Here is the weekly review of the top performing Montenegrin players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Milica Jovanovic (189-89, currently plays in Turkey). She led Besiktas to a 2-point victory over the league outsider Edremit (1-17) 83-81 in the Turkish TKBL in Wednesday night's game. Jovanovic was MVP of the game. She scored 28 points (!!!), had 6 boards, handed out 5 passes and blocked 2 shots in 34 minutes on the court. Besiktas CT Istanbul (11-6) is placed sixth in the TKBL. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Jovanovic's first season with the team. Jovanovic belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #5 with 17.6ppg. She also averaged so far 5.6rpg, 2.3apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 48.4%, 3FGP: 34.9% and FT: 74.4% in the 17 games she played so far. Jovanovic is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U18 international swingman Ana Dabovic (183-89, currently plays in Turkey). She led TED Ankara to a victory over the closely-ranked Antakya (7-11) 76-65 in the Turkish TKBL last Sunday. Dabovic was the best player in that game. She scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists. TED Ankara Kolejliler (7-11) is placed tenth in the TKBL. Dabovic belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #4. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Dabovic averages: 17.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.1apg, 1.9spg, 3FGP: 30.6% and FT: 72.2%. She played for the Montenegrin U18 national team in 2007.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Milka Bjelica (193-81, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Turkey) is a teammate of previously mentioned Milica Jovanovic and both played together in the last Turkish TKBL game. Bjelica was the major contributor in Besiktas' victory against the league outsider Edremit (1-17) 83-81. She scored 14 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 35 minutes. Bjelica has very impressive stats this year: 17.8ppg, 10.3rpg, 3.3apg, 2.7spg, 2FGP: 45.3% and FT: 92.9%(26-28) in the six games. She played for the Montenegrin national team two years ago.

   #4. An experienced guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a USK Praha's victory against the closely-ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (17-5) 74-67 in the Czech Republic ZBL in Saturday night's game. Skerovic recorded 7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. ZVVZ USK Praha (21-1) is placed first in the ZBL. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Skerovic is currently first on the league's list of best passers. Her overall stats this season are: 5.7ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.5apg and 1.5spg. Skerovic is also Montenegrin national team player.

   #5. International center Ana Turcinovic (190-93, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TKBL could not help Antakya (7-11) in their last game. Despite her good performance Antakya lost 64-69 on the road to the higher-ranked (#5) Tarsus Bld. Turcinovic was the second best scorer with 12 points. She also added 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. It was Antakya's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Turcinovic has relatively good stats this year: 12.3ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in the 12 games. She plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #6. Center Natasa Popovic (192-82, currently plays in Russia) helped Spartak Noginsk win their game against the second-ranked Dynamo Moscow (10-4) 77-74 in the Russian PBL on Sunday night. Popovic scored 6 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Spartak Noginsk (3-9) is placed eighth in the PBL. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Popovic is ranked seventh on the list of the best rebounders in the league and also on the list of best blockers (second place). Her overall stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.9bpg and 1.9spg. Popovic is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

Former international power forward Neda Nikolic (181-91, currently plays in Serbia) helped Stara Pazova win their game against the closely-ranked Celarevo (0-19) 72-69 in the Serbian A League in Saturday night's game. She scored 7 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in only 13 minutes. ZKK Stara Pazova (8-6) is placed ninth in the A League. Nikolic's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Nikolic's overall stats are: 3.3ppg and 2.8rpg in the 17 games. She used to play for the Montenegrin national team two years ago.

Power forward Sanja Knezevic (188-84, currently plays in Romania) helped Sp.Studentesc win their game against the closely-ranked Brasov (9-13) 79-74 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday. Knezevic recorded 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. CSM Sportul Studentesc Bucuresti (9-12) is placed eighth in the Liga Nationala. It was Sp.Studentesc's first victory after three consecutive loses. Knezevic's total stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg. She plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

International center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jelena Skerovic and both played together in the last Czech Republic ZBL game. Dubljevic managed to help ZVVZ USK Praha in a victory against the closely-ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (17-5) 74-67. She recorded only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 11 minutes. This year Dubljevic has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg in the 21 games. She is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team.

   #10. Power forward Iva Perovanovic (188-83, currently plays in Russia) helped Nadezhda Orenburg win their game against one of league's weakest teams Energy Ivanovo (3-11) 73-67 in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game. Perovanovic scored only 3 points. Nadezhda Orenburg (10-4) is placed third in the PBL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Perovanovic's total stats this season are: 8.9ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.2apg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #11. International guard Jasmina Bigovic (174-79, currently plays in Russia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Natasa Popovic and both played together in the last Russian PBL game. Bigovic helped Spartak Noginsk win their game against the second-ranked Dynamo Moscow 77-74. She scored only 2 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes. This year Bigovic's total stats are: 4.7ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg in the 12 games. She plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #12. Former U16 international center Milica Radonjic (185-93, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Vrbas Medela in their game against Sumadija KG in the Serbian A League. She cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Radonjic scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. Her team was crushed by 41 points 85-44. Radonjic has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 3.0rpg in the 17 games. She used to play for the Montenegrin U16 national team back in 2008.

   #13. Former international power forward Kristina Rakovic (182-94, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to secure a victory for Mladi Krajisnik in their game against Partizan in the Adriatic League. Rakovic scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Her team was badly defeated by 19 points 78-59. Rakovic has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 4.1rpg. She used to play for the Montenegrin national team two years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Montenegrin passport:

   #1. Mirjana Beronja (170-PG-86, currently plays in Adriatic League) managed to help Radivoj Korac Beograd to win against the tenth-ranked ZKK Vrsac (4-14) 73-60 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. Beronja scored 5 points and had 3 steals. Radivoj Korac Beograd (14-4) is placed second in group T. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Adriatic League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Beronja has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 1.7rpg, 2.5apg and 1.9spg.

Vanja Mudresa (ex Lovcen) signs at Vrbas Medela - 8 days ago
ZKK Vrbas Medela (1 ZLS) landed 21-year old Montenegrin power forward Vanja Mudresa (182-96). She played most recently at Lovcen in Montenegrin 1A ZCKL. She helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. Mudresa also spent pre-season at Buducnost in Montenegrin league that year. She won MZRKL championship title in 2016. Mudresa represented Montenegro at the European Championships U20 Division B in Podgorica (Montenegro) last year....   [read more]

Sumadija Kragujevac (1 ZLS) signed 18-year old Montenegrin center Sara Raicevic (184-99). She played last season at Buducnost in Montenegrin 1A ZCKL. She helped them to win the League title. Raicevic was a member of Montenegrin U20 National Team two years ago. She has played also professionally in Bosnia (Mladi Krajisnik). ZKK Buducnost Bemax (1A ZCKL) added to their roster 25-year old Belarusian international power forward Maryia Filonchyk (189-92). She played last season at Chevakata in Russian Superleague 1. In 26 PBL games she recorded 6.1ppg and 3.2rpg. Filonchyk also played 2 games in Eurocup where she averaged 5.5ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg.
