Here is the weekly review of the top performing Montenegrin players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Nikola Vucevic (210-90, college: USC, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Vucevic could not help the Orlando Magic (17-45) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Orlando Magic was edged 97-96 on the road by the Miami Heat. Vucevic recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 21 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. It's Vucevic's first season with the team. Vucevic is ranked sixth on the list of the best rebounders in the league. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Vucevic averages: 12.3ppg, 11.4rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 52.6% and FT: 68.4%. He is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup). Dubljevic led his Spanish team Valencia Basket to a victory over the leader Unics Kazan (4-2) 80-70 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Dubljevic recorded 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. Valencia Basket (4-2) is placed second. Dubljevic has relatively good stats this year: 13.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 2FGP: 55.3%(47-85), 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 81.0% in the 13 games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, currently plays in Romania). Ivanovic was the main contributor in a 1-point Gaz Metan's victory against the ninth-ranked CSU Sibiu (12-13) 75-74 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Sunday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Ivanovic recorded 27 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 3 assists. CS Gaz Metan Medias (17-8) is placed fifth in the Liga Nationala. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This season Ivanovic has relatively solid stats: 13.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 56.5%(95-168), 3FGP: 36.5% and FT: 85.5%. He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Serbian. Ivanovic played for the Montenegrin national team five years ago.

   #4. Power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to a Spartak St.Petersburg's victory against the leader Budivelnyk (4-2) 83-72 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group K. Spartak St.Petersburg (3-3) is placed second. Dragicevic has reliable stats this year: 10.6ppg and 4.6rpg in the 12 games. He is also Montenegrin national team player.

International swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87, currently plays in Ukraine) helped Khimik win their game against the 12th-ranked Dnipro (12-21) 81-72 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Thursday night. Sehovic was the top player that evening. He recorded 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Khimik-OPZ Yuzny (20-13) is placed fifth in the Superleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Sehovic's stats this season are: 11.5ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sehovic plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

Shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, currently plays in Serbia) was the major contributor in Metalac's victory against the closely-ranked Vrsac (12-11) 87-76 in the Serbian A League in Saturday night's game. He scored 19 points and added 3 assists in 26 minutes. Vujic Metalac Valjevo (15-8) is placed third in the A League. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Bakic is currently seventh on the league's list of top scorers with 14.5ppg. He also averaged so far 3.3rpg and 2.0apg in the 12 games. Bakic is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #7. International swingman Sead Sehovic (196-89, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Hungary was not able to help Szolnok (7-16) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance Szolnok was edged 86-84 in Aleksandrovac by the leading Igokea. Sehovic was the top scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. There are only three games left until the end of the Adriatic League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Sehovic averaged so far 12.4ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.4apg. He is also Montenegrin national team player.

Point guard Goran Martinic (183-87, agency: BeoExcell, currently plays in Romania) was not able to secure a victory for CSM Bucuresti (15-10) in their game against Rovinari (12-13) in the Romanian Liga Nationala, despite his very good performance on Monday night. Martinic was the top scorer with 25 points. He also added 7 assists in 36 minutes. But CSM Bucuresti was edged 86-84 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked (#11) Rovinari. It was CSM Bucuresti's third consecutive loss in a row. Martinic is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in CSM Bucuresti's roster. Martinic is currently second on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (sixth place). He has very impressive stats this year: 20.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 5.3apg and 1.6spg in the 25 games. Martinic used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team back in 2007.

   #9. Former U20 international guard Milorad Sutulovic (196-90, currently plays in Balkan League) couldn't help OKK Beograd (0-4) in their game against Mornar Bar (1-3) in the Balkan League. Despite his very good performance in Tuesday night's game He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Sutulovic also added 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Balkan League Second Stage. So now every game will be important. Sutulovic averaged so far 10.9ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team three years ago.

Center Nikola Pekovic (209-86, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Minnesota Timberwolves (21-37) in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers (31-31) in the NBA. Pekovic scored 8 points. The Minnesota Timberwolves were crushed 116-94 in Los Angeles by the Lakers. It was Timberwolves' sixth consecutive loss in a row. This season Pekovic has very high stats. He averages: 15.9ppg and 8.8rpg. Pekovic is an international player who is currently on the senior Montenegrin National Team roster.

   #11. International power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) couldn't help Caja Laboral in their game against Maccabi T-A in the Euroleague. He scored 5 points in 15 minutes. His team lost 62-66. This year Bjelica's overall stats are: 4.9ppg and 2.8rpg in the 19 games. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #12. Former U20 international power forward Filip Barovic (208-90, currently plays in Hungary) couldn't help Soproni in their game against ZTE KK in the Hungarian A Division. Despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 11 rebounds. Barovic is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (second place). This season he has very high stats. Barovic averages: 17.1ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team back in 2010.

   #13. Former U21 international power forward Igor Bijelic (207-88, currently plays in Bosnia) helped Mladost win their game against the closely-ranked Bosna ASA BHT 98-92 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Saturday night. Bijelic recorded 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He is currently seventh on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best blockers (first place). This season Bijelic has very high stats. He averages: 17.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4bpg. Bijelic used to play for the Montenegrin U21 national team six years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international forward Marko Loncovic (200-91, currently plays in Portugal) couldn't help Barcelos in their game against Benfica in the Portuguese LPB, despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. He was the top scorer with 28 points. Loncovic also added 9 rebounds in 40 minutes. But his team was crushed by 73 points 125-52. He is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (sixth place). Loncovic has very impressive stats this year: 21.0ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.2apg and 2.1spg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin U20 national team back in 2011.

   #15. International point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (188-82, another player represented by Beo Basket, college: St.John's, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Milko Bjelica and both played together in the last Euroleague game. Cook couldn't help Caja Laboral in their game against Maccabi T-A. He cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. Cook scored only 3 points and added 4 assists. His team was defeated 66-62. Cook's total stats this season are: 3.0ppg, 1.1rpg and 3.1apg. He is a naturalized American. Cook is also in the roster of the Montenegrin national team. Strangely he has never played in Montenegro.


The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:

   #1. Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91, currently plays in Euroleague) led his Spanish team Real Madrid to an overtime victory over the sixth-ranked Zalgiris (4-6) 105-104 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Mirotic had a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks (made all of his eighteen free throws !!!) in 35 minutes. Real Madrid (9-1) is placed first in group E. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. Mirotic has relatively good stats this year: 12.1ppg and 5.4rpg in the 20 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Montenegrin and Spanish. Despite Mirotic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Montenegrin team.

   #2. Experienced Branko Cuic (197-G-78, currently plays in Romania) was the major contributor in a Targu Mures' victory against the seventh-ranked U-Mobitelco (17-8) 111-105 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Monday. Cuic had a double-double by scoring 18 points and making 10 passes. He also added 5 rebounds in 38 minutes. BC Mures Targu-Mures (18-7) is placed third in the Liga Nationala. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Cuic is ranked fourth on the list of the best passers in the league with 5.8apg. This year he also averages: 13.4ppg and 6.4rpg in the 24 games.

   #3. Radomir Marojevic (207-C-81, currently plays in Serbia) led Vojvodina to a 1-point victory against the seventh-ranked Radnicki Basket (12-11) 68-67 in the Serbian A League last Saturday. Marojevic scored 13 points. KK Vojvodina Novi Sad (18-5) is placed first in the A League. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Marojevic's total stats this season are: 9.6ppg and 3.4rpg.

   #4. Balsa Radunovic (207-F/C-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) led Lirija to a 1-point victory over the league leader Kozuv (10-3) 79-78 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga on Sunday night. He was the top player that evening. Radunovic recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Lirija Skopje (10-3) is placed second in the Prva Liga. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Radunovic is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (fourth place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Radunovic averages: 16.0ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.5spg in the 13 games.

   #5. Ranko Velimirovic (205-C/F-72, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Bosnia) led Mladost to a victory against the closely-ranked Bosna ASA BHT (13-6) 98-92 in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I last Saturday. Velimirovic recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Mladost Mrkonjic Gradis placed in the Division I. Velimirovic has been at the team for four years. He averaged so far 11.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.1apg in the 17 games.

   #6. Mensud Julevic (200-PF-85, currently plays in Slovenia), who plays in the Slovenian Telemach League could not help Elektra (8-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Julevic's very good performance Elektra was edged 62-59 at home by the higher-ranked Maribor Messer (#3). He was the top scorer with 15 points. Julevic also added 5 rebounds. He averaged so far 12.8ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.9apg. Julevic is another player who holds two passports: Montenegrin and Slovenian. Despite his Montenegrin nationality, Julevic previously played for the Slovenian U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Montenegrin team.

   #7. Boris Lalovic (209-C-81, currently plays in Bosnia), who plays in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I was not able to help Zrinjski HT (8-11) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Zrinjski HT lost 89-94 on the road to the lower-ranked (#10) Vogosca. Lalovic was the second best scorer with 21 points. He also added 8 rebounds and 6 assists in 50 minutes. Lalovic is currently third on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (third place). He has very impressive stats this year: 19.6ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.6apg in the 18 games.

   #8. Petar Despotovic (194-G-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Konstantin in their game against Sloboda in the Serbian A League. Despotovic scored 9 points and had 3 steals in 21 minutes. His team lost 68-80. This year Despotovic's total stats are: 9.2ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.9apg and 1.3spg in the 23 games. He has both Montenegrin and Serbian nationalities. Despite Despotovic's Montenegrin passport, he previously played for the Serbian university national team.

   #9. Nikola Vucurovic (200-G/F-80, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in FYR Macedonia) contributed to a Feni Indistrija's victory against the seventh-ranked Vardar 87-74 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga last Saturday. Vucurovic recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (made all of his five free throws). His total stats this season are: 8.3ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.5spg.

   #10. Bojan Subotic (203-F-90, currently plays in Adriatic League) managed to help Crvena Zvezda DIVA Beograd in a 2-point victoryagainst the 11th-ranked Cibona 97-95 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. Subotic scored only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 10 minutes. This year his total stats are: 4.3ppg and 2.5rpg in the 21 games.

KK Gusinje Strsljen (Erste Liga) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old American forward Carl Lee (198-102kg-82, college: Utah Valley). The last time (9-10) he played at Lusitania in Portuguese LPB league. Lee missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Lee won Portuguese Proliga championship title in 2010. Split finalizes roster with Mateo Kedzo - 10 hours ago

Split completed their roster for the upcoming season by inking their former member Mateo Kedzo(206-F/C-84) on an open contract. Kedzo arrives from Greek side Doxa Leafkadas, where he averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.3 steals in 27 Greece A2 League games last season. He already played for Split from 2002 through 2007 and during the 2014-15 season, averaging 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 8 Croatian A1 League games.   [read more]

Cedevita - Buducnost 78:68 Cedevita claimed the fifth position at the Zadar Dogus Basketball Tournament. They overcame Buducnost in the final day of the tournament. Dzanan Musa (204-SG-99, agency: BeoBasket) notched 14 points to lead the Croatian team. Cedevita secured a 22:20 lead after the opening quarter. Buducnost pulled ahead in the second term.
