Vladimir
Dasic
Defending champion Petrolina AEK Larnaca (Division A) tabbed 29-year old Montenegrin international power forward Vladimir Dasic (207-107kg-88). He played most recently at Ulcinj in Montenegrin Erste Liga.
The previous (14-15) season Dasic played at Buducnost in Montenegrin league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 15 Eurocup games he averaged 8.9ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.9spg. Dasic also played 26 games in ABA League where he recorded 8.1ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.6spg (in top 5). He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League 3rd Team. Dasic also played 3 games in Erste Liga where he got 14.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.0spg.
Among other achievements Dasic's team won Montenegrin Cup in 2007, 2009 and 2015. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Montenegrin League Forward of the Year award back in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Dasic has been also a member of Montenegrin international program for some years. He has regularly played for Montenegrin senior team since 2008 and previously for U21 National Team in 2007.
Dasic represented Montenegro at the Qualifications to European Championships 2017 last year. His stats at that event were 6 games: 9.0ppg, 5.7rpg, Steals-4 (2.5spg), FGP: 53.6%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 66.7%.
Dasic is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Dasic has played previously professionally also in Italy (Roma Virtus), Serbia (Metalac), Slovenia (Un.Olimpija), Spain (Real Madrid and Gran Canaria), Turkey (Besiktas) and United Arab Emirates (Al Ahli).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: A very versatile big man, who can spend time inside and outside with the same effectiveness. Needs to become more continous on the court, but he's yet very green, and the time will help a lot. Has a huge upside at 3 position, even at NBA level.
The Montenegrin power forward, is an athletic, versatile and skilled power forward, a natural born scorer, has great potential. From a complementary guy that looked capable of doing a lot of things but hardly found consistency displaying them, he successfully assumed his leading role as a talented, veteran and experienced player.
Outlook (2007):
Dasic is one of the top prospects of Montenegro, he has what it takes to become a very good power forward, he is strong, has very high basketball IQ and has silky moves in the paint. He has very good results in the catch-and-shoot mode as he can grab from any place the most amazing offensive rebound. Vladimir can be a real defensive weapon for his coach as his is very energetic on defence, his strength; length and quickness are adaptable to the three frontcourt positions at this level. His weaknesses is that is horrible from the charity line as his percentages are around 45-50%, moreover he can play much better in the power forward position than the one of the small forward as he has Inconsistency in his shooting from the perimeter. With a bit of work on techniques and shooting he can be a really very good material for both Europe and NBA courts
