2017 NBA Trade Deadline Targets - Jan 24, 2017

Nikola
Vucevic
The NBA trade deadline is about a month away (February 23rd 2017) and there's going to be some big names on the move this season. With many teams fighting for playoff spots, there will be talent on the move.
However, even some of the teams expected to make the NBA playoffs may be sellers this season. There are less than a handful of teams that could reasonably upset the Warriors and Cavaliers in the playoffs this season.
With teams realizing they're unlikely to win an NBA title, expensive veterans will likely be traded. Some of the fringe title contenders should do everything they can to add production without trading away everything.
Here are some potential targets teams will be chasing over the next month. Think you know your NBA? Visit this link to claim the bonus code at Bet365 and you can put your knowledge to the test.

Paul Millsap (Atlanta Hawks)

Al Horford left in the off-season and Paul Millsap could be traded next month. He's a free agent after the season and at 32-years-old, will Atlanta want to commit a maximum contract to him when they're not a title contender?
The Toronto Raptors would love to pick him up as a rental, but they won't trade away too many pieces. Boston may be willing to trade for Millsap too and pair him up with Horford in the frontcourt to make a run in the NBA playoffs.

Nerlens Noel / Jahlil Okafor (Philadelphia 76ers)

Philadelphia need to clear the logjam they have in the frontcourt and these are the two prime candidates to be traded at the deadline. While only one is likely to be traded, nobody knows who it will end up being.
Noel should bring the best package back to Philadelphia, but he's a restricted free agent, which could limit his value a bit in a market with several big men on the market. Okafor could help teams, but his defense/rebounding is weak.

Nikola Vucevic (Orlando Magic)

Vucevic is back in the starting line-up, but are the Magic committed to the big man? They signed Bismack Biyombo to a big contract this off-season, but he has disappointed and Orlando may be willing to keep Vucevic around.
Orlando have had a rough start to the season after making big off-season moves, but they're only 4.5 games back of the Bulls for the final playoff spot in the East. Trading Vucevic would likely ensure they miss the playoffs this year.

Goran Dragic (Miami Heat)

Miami have little chance at making the 2017 NBA playoffs and they should try and find a suitable trade partner so they can move Dragic before the deadline. At 30-years-old, Dragic's prime is running out and Miami aren't contending.
The Heat are going to want to get a first round pick back as a starting point and that'll make it more difficult to move Dragic, but there are several playoff contending teams who could use him, including the Knicks and Bucks.

Rajon Rondo (Chicago Bulls)

If a team is looking for a deal on a PG at the deadline they should call Chicago. The Bulls are definitely looking to trade Rondo despite this being his first season with the team. He has struggled mightily and lost the starting PG job.
Rondo will be cheap and could help elevate a fringe playoff contender into the playoffs, but I wouldn't give up much for him. A team with shooters could use him, though, as he's still one of the best PGs at dishing out the basketball.

Latkovic number one in Montenegro for round 19 (by Court Side) - 14 hours ago
Guard Milos Latkovic (196-G-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) had a great game in the last round for Lovcen, receiving a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 19. The 23-year old player was the main contributor (35 points, five rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Jedinstvo (#7, 7-10) with 34-point margin 98-64. Lovcen maintains the 4th position in Montenegrin Erste Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games...   [read more]

National Cup of Montenegro: Buducnost capture another Cup title - 1 day ago
Buducnost is the new-old winner of Montenegrin Cup. Even though nothing has really changed this time Buducnost could be considered lucky because one shot decided their destiny and this time this shot was in the hands of Antabia Waller (191-G-88, college: Auburn), Mornar's sharp shooter who missed a wide open shot from a central position to secure a big win for his team. But Buducnost won at the end (72-68). Buducnost started the game much better and opened it with a 20-11 lead in the firs...   [read more]
