Djoko Salic
Talented Serbian Djoko Salic (213-C-95) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Sutjeska and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 21-year old center had the game-high 26 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Sutjeska in his team's victory, helping them to crush S.Centar (#6, 7-9) with 24-point margin 96-72. Sutjeska is placed at 2nd position in Montenegrin Erste Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sutjeska will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. It's Salic's second year at Sutjeska and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Djoko Salic averages this season 10.6ppg and 5.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old center Marko Ljujic (207-C-90) of Ibar Rozaje. Ljujic impressed basketball fans with a triple-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Of course Ibar Rozaje cruised to a 85-74 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Primorje 1945 (#9, 3-13). Ibar Rozaje's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 11-5 record is not bad at all. Ljujic is a newcomer at Ibar Rozaje and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina Vladan Jocovic (211-C-82) of Primorje 1945 (#9). Jocovic scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Jocovic's great performance Primorje 1945 lost 74-85 to the higher-ranked Ibar Rozaje (#3, 11-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Primorje 1945 can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jocovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jocovic has individually a great season in Montenegro. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.4rpg (2nd best). Vladan Jocovic has also Montenegrin passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Emir Hadzibegovic (204-PF-96) of Danilovgrad - 21 points and 10 rebounds
5. Elvis Cekic (201-F-97) of S.Centar - 21 points and 8 rebounds
6. Nikola Rondovic (207-PF-91) of Ibar Rozaje - 22 points and 4 rebounds
7. Milos Popovic (197-PF-98) of Teodo Tivat - 13 points and 11 rebounds
8. Milos Lopicic (216-C-90) of Lovcen - 16 points and 8 rebounds
9. Milos Pajovic (205-C-94) of Lovcen - 13 points and 9 rebounds
10. Milan Stanojevic (183-G-86) of Teodo Tivat - 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Erste Basketball League Play Off's: Buducnost gets an easy win in Game 3 and leads 2-1 - 17 hours ago
Buducnost got back the lead in the finals series (2-1) after the big win in Podgorica (80-69). The game was tied in the first quarter but then in the second quarter Buducnost showed its class and got a nice lead at the halftime (+9). The rest of the game was just a formality because Mornar did not have the strength to bounce back and threaten Buducnost. Even six players scored in double figures for Buducnost. Nemanja Gordic (193-PG-88) had 18 points and 7 assists while Aleksa Ilic (205-F-...   [read more]

Erste Basketball League Play Off''s: Mornar ties the series at 1-1 after a great performance in Bar - 4 days ago
Everybody expected an interesting series between two old rivals and here it is. Buducnost and Mornar are tied at 1-1 after the last night's win of Mornar in Bar (73-62). Mornar started the game great and the result after first quarter says it all (21-8). Buducnost cut the deficit in the second quarter but Mornar still had the lead and kept it until the end without struggling to much against the powerhouse from Podgorica. Antabia Waller (191-G-88, college: Auburn) had a great shooting nigh...   [read more]
