Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Montenegrins who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Nikola Vucevic (213-90, college: USC, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Orlando Magic (21-38) in their last game. Despite Vucevic's very good performance the Orlando Magic (21-38) lost 103-112 on the road to the Portland Trail Blazers. He was the top scorer with 25 points. Vucevic also added 9 rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. It's Vucevic's fifth season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Vucevic averages: 14.1ppg, 10.0rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 48.7%, 3FGP: 28.8% and FT: 63.1% in 56 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, currently plays in Israel). Kanacevic led Bnei Hasharon to a victory against the league leader Maccabi T-A (14-5) 99-92 in the Israeli Winner League last Tuesday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. Kanacevic also added 4 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Bnei Hertzeliyya (12-7) is placed third in the Winner League. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kanacevic's first year with the team. Kanacevic's overall stats this season are: 6.9ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 30.3%. He is a naturalized American. Kanacevic played for the Montenegrin U20 national team in 2011. Strangely he has never played in Montenegro.

   #3. The Montenegrin player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Marko Todorovic (209-92, currently plays in VTB United League). Todorovic contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Unics Kazan (11-6) crushing them 98-73 in the VTB United League on Monday night. He scored 16 points and added 3 assists in 26 minutes. BC Khimky Moscow Region (13-3) is placed third in the VTB United League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Todorovic has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 71.7%(66-92) and FT: 55.6% in 15 games. He is also a member of the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll., currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to a FC Barcelona's victory against the bottom-ranked Armani Milano (7-16) 83-78 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Rice scored 10 points and added 6 assists. FC Barcelona Lassa (9-14) is placed 11th in group A. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. This season Rice has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg, 1.8rpg, 5.4apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Rice used to play for the Montenegrin national team back in 2014. Apparently he has never played in Montenegro.

   #5. International shooting guard Vladimir Mihailovic (193-90, currently plays in Basketball Champions League) managed to help EWE Baskets Oldenburg in a victory against the closely-ranked Avtodor (7-7) 98-89 in the Basketball Champions League last Tuesday. Mihailovic scored only 3 points and added 4 passes in 20 minutes. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (10-4) is placed third in group C. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Mihailovic's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 8.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.1apg in seven games. Mihailovic plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #6. Power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was not able to help Stelmet (0-0) in their game against Cibona in the FIBA Europe Cup. He scored 9 points. But the fourth-placed Stelmet was badly defeated 102-83 in Zagreb by the leading Cibona in the group Q of FIBA Europe Cup. Dragicevic's total stats this season are: 6.5ppg and 1.5rpg. He is a former international player as he played for the Montenegrin senior team three years ago.

   #7. Former international point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St., currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to secure a victory for Lokomotiv (13-3) in their game against CSKA (15-2) in the VTB United League. Rochestie scored 8 points in 19 minutes. Lokomotiv lost 77-83 in Moscow to the leading CSKA. It was Lokomotiv's first loss after thirteen consecutive victories. This year Rochestie's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.9apg in 10 games. He is a naturalized American. Rochestie used to play for the Montenegrin national team three years ago. Interesting that he has never played in Montenegro.

Power forward Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vladimir Dragicevic and both played together in the last FIBA Europe Cup game. Djurisic couldn't help Stelmet in their game against Cibona. He scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Stelmet (#4) was badly defeated 102-83 in Zagreb by the leading Cibona in the group Q of FIBA Europe Cup. Djurisic has averaged so far 6.0ppg and 4.0rpg. He plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

Former international swingman Nikola Zizic (197-94, currently plays in ABA League) helped his Serbian team FMP win their game against the 11th-ranked MZT Skopje (8-15) 101-82 in the ABA League in Tuesday night's game. He scored 8 points and added 3 assists. FMP Beograd (10-13) is placed seventh in the ABA League. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Zizic has averaged so far 6.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team two years ago.

Power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in ABA League) helped his Serbian team Mega Leks win their game against the league outsider Mornar Bar (7-16) 89-81 in the ABA League on Wednesday night. Spasojevic scored 5 points. BC Mega Leks (9-14) is placed tenth in the ABA League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. Spasojevic has averaged so far 9.4ppg and 3.4rpg. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Montenegrin senior national team.

   #11. An experienced former international shooting guard Bojan Bakic (195-83, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help BK Kolin (11-14) in their last game. Despite Bakic's good performance BK Kolin (#6) was badly defeated 72-55 in Praha by the higher-ranked (#4) USK Praha in the Places 1-6 group. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Bakic also added 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. Bakic has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.2apg in 21 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team four years ago.

   #12. Former international power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Serbian team Crvena Zvezda win their game against the 15th-ranked Galatasaray 77-58 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Bjelica scored only one point. Bjelica has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team back in 2014.

   #13. Former international power forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates, currently plays in France) helped Orchesien BC win their game against the closely-ranked Souffelweyersheim 74-69 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. Rakocevic scored 8 points, had 8 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 2 shots in 25 minutes. Rakocevic has reliable stats this year: 12.1ppg, 6.8rpg and 2.1apg in 20 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team eight years ago.

   #14. International forward Dino Radoncic (202-99, currently plays in Spain) helped Real Madrid II win their game against the fifth-ranked La Roda 83-72 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday night. Radoncic scored 17 points and added 3 passes. This season Radoncic has very high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 2.5apg. Radoncic plays currently for the Montenegrin national team.

   #15. Former international power forward Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, another player represented by Interperformances, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help Tsmoki-Minsk in their game against Astana in the VTB United League. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Milosevic scored only 2 points and added 3 assists in 20 minutes. His team lost 70-80. Milosevic has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.6apg in 15 games. He used to play for the Montenegrin national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Montenegrin passport but never been selected to any of Montenegrin national teams:

   #1. Gligorije Rakocevic (211-C-95, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Oregon St. (0-12) in their last game. Despite Rakocevic's very good performance the Oregon St. lost 66-79 at home to the Stanford University. He scored 16 points in 27 minutes. So far Oregon St. lost all twelve games in the conference There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Rakocevic has averaged so far 4.4ppg and 3.5rpg in 27 games he played so far.

   #2. Nemanja Calasan (204-C-85, agency: HMS, college: Purdue, currently plays in Switzerland) was not able to help Boncourt (6-11) in their last game. Despite Calasan's very good performance Boncourt lost 83-95 on their home court in Boncourt to the one of league's weakest teams (#10) Lausanne. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 15 rebounds in 40 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Calasan has reliable stats this year: 13.4ppg, 12.5rpg and 1.9apg in 17 games. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Montenegrin.

   #3. Stevan Milosevic (211-C-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in ABA League) managed to help Union Olimpija Ljubljana in a 2-point victoryagainst the fourth-ranked Buducnost (16-7) 81-79 in the ABA League on Wednesday night. Milosevic scored only 4 points in 11 minutes. Union Olimpija Ljubljana (10-13) is placed eighth in the ABA League. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. Milosevic has averaged so far 4.9ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.3apg in 23 games.

   #4. Stefan Knezevic (204-C-89, currently plays in Baltic League) was not able to secure a victory for TLU/Kalev in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance TLU/Kalev was defeated 86-73 on the road by the lower-ranked Liepaja/Triobet (#5). Knezevic was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 8 rebounds. It was his first game for TLU/Kalev this season.

   #5. Nikola Rakocevic (191-G-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Caceres Basket (10-14) in their last game. Despite Rakocevic's good performance Caceres Basket lost 70-81 in San Sebastian to the leading Gipuzkoa. He scored 11 points (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 20 minutes. Rakocevic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.8apg in 22 games.

   #6. Nikola Pesic (196-G/F, currently plays in NCAA2) led Truman State University to a victory against the William Jewell College 92-86 in the NCAA2 in Thursday night's game. Pesic scored 11 points. Pesic has averaged so far 4.1ppg and 2.2rpg.

   #7. Ivan Zejak (203-SF-87, currently plays in Slovakia) contributed to Handlova's victory against the third-ranked Prievidza 75-67 in the Slovakian SBL last Wednesday. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. Zejak has averaged so far 8.6ppg and 5.3rpg in 30 games.

   #8. Nikola Korac (185-G-86, currently plays in France) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Vitre (11-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Vitre lost 63-77 on their home court in Vitre to the higher-ranked (#12) Gries/Oberhoffen. Korac was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 6 passes in 34 minutes. Korac has very impressive stats this year: 17.7ppg, 3.7rpg, 8.0apg and 1.7spg in three games.

   #9. Experienced Aleksandar Radulovic (207-C-83, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Nikola Korac and both played together in the last French NM1 game. Radulovic couldn't help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Vitre (11-13) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Vitre was defeated 77-63 on their home court in Vitre by the higher-ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (#12). Radulovic recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. Radulovic averaged so far 11.4ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.5apg.

   #10. Vladimir Tomasevic (201-F-92, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Gandia in their game against Blancos de Rueda in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). He scored 6 points. His team was edged 71-68. Tomasevic has averaged so far 9.7ppg and 4.7rpg.

Estudiantes have reportedly agreed on terms of contract extension with Omar-Sharif Cook(186-PG-82, college: St.John's, agency: BeoBasket). The point guard joined the Madrid team at the start of the season. He tallied 5.8 points, 4.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game in ACB. Previously Omar-Sharif Cook had stints in Montenegro, Lithuania, Spain, Russia and Belgium. Last season the guard made it onto All-Montenegrin League 2nd Team.   [read more]

This week's number one is an international power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket). He could not help Valencia Basket (23-9) in their last game.
