Cuban-American Juan Ferrales (188-G-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Kongsberg and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16. The 25-year old guard had the game-high 35 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Kongsberg in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Centrum (#7, 9-10) 100-97. It allowed Kongsberg to consolidate first place in the Norwegian BLNO. Kongsberg have a solid 15-2 record. In the team's last game Ferrales had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kongsberg's top player in his first season with the team. Barry University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ferrales is in league's top in points (3rd best: 25.1ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 59.9% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-F/C-82) of Asker Aliens. Yele impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Asker Aliens cruised to a 72-62 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Ammerud Bskt (#9, 5-13). This victory allowed Asker Aliens to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Yele is one of the most experienced players at Asker Aliens and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.5ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 13.2rpg and 3.1apg.
The third best performed player last round was Aksel Bolinz (201-G/F-90) of Centrum (#7). Bolinz scored 22 points and grabbed nineteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Bolinz's great performance Centrum lost 97-100 to the higher-ranked Kongsberg (#1, 15-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Centrum ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bolinz could help Centrum to bring them higher in the standings. Bolinz has a great season in Norway. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.9rpg (5th best).
