33-year old guard Edmunds Gabrans (190-G-79) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Froya Basket and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Baerum Basket (#6, 1-2) 99-90. Froya Basket maintains the 3rd position in Norwegian league. Froya Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Gabrans had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Froya Basket, through which he has constantly improved. Gabrans has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 18.0ppg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 55.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Keith Thompson (197-F-90) of Baerum Basket. He is American forward in his first season at Baerum Basket. In the last game Thompson recorded impressive double-double of 34 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Baerum Basket lost that game 90-99 to Froya Basket (2-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Thompson is a newcomer at Baerum Basket and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.7ppg (#1). He also registered 9.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jonathan Jones (196-F-88) of league's second-best Tromso. Jones showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, seventeen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tromso, leading his team to a 69-54 easy win against Ammerud Bskt (#5, 1-2). Tromso needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Jones has a great season in Norway. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 15.7rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Anders Stien (195-G-90) of Gimle BBK - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Sjur Berg (198-F-96) of Asker Aliens - 14 points and 14 rebounds
6. Stian Enge (190-G-90) of Gimle BBK - 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Reno Silavs (180-PG-91) of Froya Basket - 22 points and 4 rebounds
8. Ryan Ferranti (195-F/G-86) of Baerum Basket - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Gary Wallace (187-G-88) of Tromso - 19 points and 5 rebounds
10. Delano Thomas (203-F-81) of Gimle BBK - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
