33-year old guard Edmunds Gabrans (190-G-79) had an amazing evening in the last round for Froya Basket and receives a Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 34 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Froya Basket in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Asker Aliens (#7, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 107-106. Froya Basket is placed at 4th position in Norwegian league. Froya Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Gabrans had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Froya Basket, through which he has constantly improved. Gabrans has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.8ppg) and averages solid 2.3spg,65.6% FGP and 41.9% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Delano Thomas (203-F-81) of league's second-best Gimle BBK. He is American forward in his first season at Gimle BBK. In the last game Thomas recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Gimle BBK to edge slightly higher-ranked Centrum (#1, 4-1) by 6 points 78-72. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Gimle BBK consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Thomas is a newcomer at Gimle BBK and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.4ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 11.4rpg and 4.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jonathan Jones (196-F-88) of Tromso (#3). Jones scored 20 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tromso, leading his team to a 75-56 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Baerum Basket (#5, 2-3). Tromso needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Jones has a great season in Norway. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 16.0rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BLNO, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The biggest surprise took place in Oslo where host Ammerud Bskt (1-3) edged league's leader Nidaros Jets (4-1) 70-67 on Sunday evening.
