An exciting game was played in Oslo. Third ranked Ammerud faced 4th placed Ulriken. Host Ammerud (4-3) defeated guests from Bergen (3-4) 61-57. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 33-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ammerud forced 21 Ulriken turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Ulriken helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Marianne Sand (184-93) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Anna Hammer (180-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Ammerud's coach Morten Sanden used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Helene Kongestol (182-93) produced 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Ammerud maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Gimle. Defending champion Ulriken keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Ammerud are looking forward to face BC Asker (#5) in Rykkinn in the next round. Ulriken will play at home against Oslo Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of Stine Karlstad (172-95) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Lise Breivik contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Merve Payasli (-91) answered with 10 points for Oslo Tigers. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. Oslo Tigers lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with BC Asker. Ulriken will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oslo Tigers will play on the road against the league's leader Gimle (#1) in Bergen to get more than just one victory in their record.

In the last game of round 7 BC Asker were crushed by Ullern in Oslo 84-45.
The best stats of 7th round was 18 points and 7 rebounds by Sigrun Eskeland of Ullern.



Ullern - BC Asker 84-45

There was no surprise in Oslo where 5th ranked BC Asker (1-6) was crushed by second ranked Ullern (4-1) 84-45. It looked good early as BC Asker took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ullern had a 15-13 second period charge getting the lead and BC Asker was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 45-84. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Asker to just 7 points in third quarter. Ullern dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to BC Asker's 18 and made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Ullern forced 21 BC Asker turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BC Asker's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Sigrun Eskeland (-83) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Tina Moen (181-86, college: IPFW) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Ullern players scored in double figures. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Siri Granheim (178-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Kristine Skorpen (170-94) added 12 points in the effort for BC Asker. Ullern have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-1 record having five points less than leader Gimle. BC Asker at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Oslo Tigers. Ullern will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Asker will play at home against Ammerud (#3) in Oslo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
