Former international guard Sigrun Eskeland (G-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Ullern and that's her to receive a Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 29-year old guard had the game-high 18 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Ullern in her team's victory, helping them to outclass BC Asker (#5, 1-6) with 39-point margin 84-45. Ullern maintains the 2nd position in Norwegian Kvinneligaen. They are still close to the very top. Ullern would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. Eskeland turned to be Ullern's top player in her first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Siri Granheim (178-F-94) of BC Asker. Granheim impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as BC Asker lost that game 45-84 to the higher-ranked Ullern (#2, 4-1). BC Asker managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory BC Asker managed to get this year. Granheim is a newcomer at BC Asker and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 6.0ppg (#9). She also registered 10.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Stine Karlstad (172-SG-95) of Ulriken (#4). Karlstad scored 16 points and passed four assists. She was a key player of Ulriken, leading her team to a 73-30 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Oslo Tigers (#6, 1-6). The chances of Ulriken ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Karlstad could help Ulriken to bring them higher in the standings. The season just started for Karlstad as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lise Breivik (181-F-93) of Ulriken - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Sara Grindelid (183-F-82) of Ammerud - 7 points and 11 rebounds
6. Marianne Sand (184-C-93) of Ammerud - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Kristine Kristiansen (173-G-75) of Ullern - 6 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Cecilia Gnaly (182-F-92) of Ullern - 10 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Tina Moen (181-G-86) of Ullern - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kajsa Andersson (177-G-89) of Ullern - 4 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Kvinneligaen Round 4: Ullern beats Hoybraten in a derby game - 5 days ago

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Kvinneligaen, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Ullern (#2) and Hoybraten (#4). Ullern (3-0) smashed visiting Hoybraten (1-3) by 43 points 80-37.
