Experienced American Delano Thomas (203-F-81) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Gimle BBK and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 34 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Tromso (#2, 5-1) 84-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Gimle BBK moved-up to the 3rd position in the Norwegian BLNO. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gimle BBK will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 5-3 record. Thomas turned to be Gimle BBK's top player in his first season with the team. Shawnee State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thomas is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.8ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.8rpg), assists (2nd best: 4.1apg) and averages solid 2.3bpg and 52.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American swingman Ronald Timus (197-G/F-84) of Ammerud Bskt. Timus impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he lead Ammerud Bskt to another comfortable win 70-57 over slightly higher-ranked Froya Basket (#4, 4-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Ammerud Bskt to move up to 5th position in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Ammerud Bskt managed to get this year. Timus is a newcomer at Ammerud Bskt and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jonathan Jones (196-F-88) of second-ranked Tromso. Jones scored 23 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tromso, leading his team to a 93-84 win against #3 ranked Gimle BBK in a game of the week. Tromso is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Jones has a great season in Norway. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.7ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Espen Stien (186-G-86) of Asker Aliens - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Thomas Ble (185-G-89) of Centrum - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Elias Westerlund (197-F-88) of Asker Aliens - 31 points and 5 rebounds
7. Galin Mihaylov (189-G-80) of Tromso - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Mustafa Mahnin (182-PG-80) of Centrum - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Gary Wallace (187-G-88) of Tromso - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Hammad Mostafa (G-86) of Froya Basket - 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
