Jones' double-double lands him Player of the Week award - Oct 29, 2012

24-year old forward Jonathan Jones (196-F-88) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Tromso and receives a Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 32 points and 32 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Baerum Basket (#5, 3-5) 88-85. Tromso maintains the 2nd position in Norwegian league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Tromso will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 6-2 record. Jones turned to be Tromso's top player in his first season with the team. Kean University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones. Jones is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.1ppg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 55.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Keith Thompson (197-F-90) of Baerum Basket. He is American forward in his first season at Baerum Basket. In the last game Thompson recorded impressive double-double of 30 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Baerum Basket to edge the higher-ranked Tromso (#2, 6-2) by 3 points 88-85. This victory allowed Baerum Basket to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Thompson is a newcomer at Baerum Basket and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#1). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Christian Hinsch (186-G-88, agency: Court Side) of league's leader Centrum. Hinsch scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Centrum, leading his team to a 77-67 win against #3 ranked Gimle BBK in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Centrum as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 9 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Hinsch has a great season in Norway. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (8th best).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

American Jamell Harris (206-F-91) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Froya Basket and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 4. The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 22 points and eleven rebounds, while his team edged out Baerum Basket (#6, 2-3) 90-86. It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BLNO, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. There were many interesting games last round. Yele number one in Norway for round 3 - 14 days ago

DR Congolese Power forward Djo Yele (203-F/C-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Asker Aliens, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 3. The 34-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while his team edged out Gimle BBK (#6, 1-1) in overtime 92-88. Asker Aliens is placed at 7th position in Norwegian BLNO.
