Argentinian-American guard Sthefany Thomas (173-G-89) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Gimle, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 23-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, six rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Oslo Tigers (#6, 1-9) with 56-point margin 93-37. It allowed Gimle to consolidate first place in the Norwegian Kvinneligaen. Gimle has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. In the team's last game Thomas had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Gimle's top player in her first season with the team. Former Clemson University star has very solid stats this year. Thomas is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.0ppg. Thomas is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.0rpg), assists (6th best: 2.0apg) and averages impressive 7.0spg.
The second best player in last round's games was 37-year old former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (173-G-75) of league's second-best Ullern. Kristiansen had a very good evening with 7 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course Ullern cruised to a 73-66 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Gimle (#1, 9-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Ullern consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 5 matches. Kristiansen is one of the most experienced players at Ullern and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Gimle's star - Nigerian center Justina Udenze (189-C-89). Udenze scored 9 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Gimle, helping her team with a 93-37 easy win against the lower-ranked Oslo Tigers (#6, 1-9). Many experts and fans count Gimle as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 9 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. The season just started for Udenze as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.

Gimle - Asker 58-54 Gimle earned the Kvinneligaen Bronze medals. They toppled Asker in the consolation final. Jennifer Winther (174-G-93) and Ingrid Gjerdevik delivered 15 points each for the winners. Gimle registered a 29:21 halftime lead. Asker cut the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the defeat. Katrine Fjaerestad (175-F-90) tossed in 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory. Ingrid Selvik (178-F-92) replied with 14 points and 21 rebounds for Asker.
