The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gimle (10-2) in Bergen on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Ulriken (5-5) 79-71. The hosts trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. Ulriken forced 25 Gimle turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lise Johannesen (-82) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lise Breivik (181-93) who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian center Justina Udenze (189-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 5-5 record. Gimle at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Ulriken are looking forward to face BC Asker (#5) in Rykkinn in the next round. Gimle will play at home against BC Asker (#5) in Rykkinn and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Oslo: Ullern (#2) and Ammerud (#3). Ullern (8-2) won against visiting Ammerud (7-4) 69-58. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ammerud. The winners were led by the former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (173-75) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals and Sigrun Eskeland supported her with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists by international center Tina Nesse (183-84) did not help to save the game for Ammerud. Ullern maintains second position with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Gimle. Ammerud at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Ullern's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Oslo Tigers.
The game in Oslo was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked BC Asker (2-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Oslo Tigers (1-12). BC Asker defeated Oslo Tigers 60-46 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Kristine Skorpen who scored 26 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Shirin El-Masrouri who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds. Oslo Tigers' coach Morten Gjerde rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Asker maintains fifth position with 2-8 record. Oslo Tigers lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. BC Asker will meet at home higher ranked Ammerud (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oslo Tigers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Ullern.



Ullern - Ammerud 69-58

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Oslo: Ullern (#2) and Ammerud (#3). Ullern (8-2) won against visiting Ammerud (7-4) 69-58. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ammerud. It looked good early as Ammerud took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ullern had a 18-8 second period charge getting the lead and Ammerud was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-69. Ullern forced 29 Ammerud turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (173-75) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals and the former international guard Sigrun Eskeland (-83) supported her with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. The game in Oslo was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked BC Asker (2-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Oslo Tigers (1-12). BC Asker defeated Oslo Tigers 60-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Asker. Oslo Tigers managed to win third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Asker well out of reach of Oslo Tigers shooting 88.0 percent from the field. Strangely Oslo Tigers outrebounded BC Asker 42-0 including a 11-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Kristine Skorpen (170-94) who scored 26 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Hege Eriksen (175-84) chipped in 8 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Shirin El-Masrouri (173-93) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Eeva-Maria Mannikkoe (-83) added 6 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Ullern IF Oslo (Kvinneligaen) re-signed 17-year old American guard Scout Lansing (171-99). She has played there for the last two seasons. In 14 Kvinneligaen games she averaged just 2.1ppg and 1.1rpg last season. Lansing helped them to win the Kvinneligaen title.
