The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tromso as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tromso defeated 3rd ranked Gimle BBK at home 70-60. The game was mostly controlled by Tromso. Gimle BBK managed to win fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gimle BBK's 26. American forward Jonathan Jones (196-88, college: Kean) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Hani Issalhi (187-84) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Delano Thomas (203-81, college: Shawnee St.) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Tromso (11-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Gimle BBK lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with nine games lost. Gimle BBK will play next round against strong Baerum Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Tromso will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Ammerud Bskt in Oslo.
Important game to mention about took place in Asker. Fifth ranked Baerum Basket (6-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Asker Aliens (4-9) 84-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. American forward Keith Thompson (197-90, college: Utah Valley) notched 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Sigurd Staver supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (-82) did not help to save the game for Asker Aliens. Baerum Basket moved-up to fourth place. Asker Aliens at the other side keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Baerum Basket will play against higher ranked Gimle BBK (#3) in Bergen in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Asker Aliens will play at home against the league's second-placed Centrum in Oslo and hope to get back on the winning track.

Froya Basket will meet at home higher ranked Baerum Basket (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gimle BBK will play against Baerum Basket in Bekkestua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
