The most exciting game of round 16 in the Kvinneligaen took place in Oslo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Ulriken (8-7) to third ranked Ammerud (10-7) 66-63 in the game for the third place. Ammerud shot 29 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Ulriken only scored thirteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Ulriken 50-34 including a 44-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Ulriken helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Tina Nesse (183-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and center Marianne Sand (184-93) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Stine Austgulen (179-94) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ammerud maintains third position with 10-7 record having three points less than leader Gimle. Defending champion Ulriken keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Ammerud will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ulriken will play at home against the league's second-placed Ullern (#2) in Oslo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Kristine Skorpen (170-94) did not help to save the game for BC Asker. Ullern have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-2 record having 3 victories less than leader Gimle. BC Asker lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Ullern will play against Ulriken (#4) in Bergen in the next round. BC Asker will have a break next round.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 9 points and 9 rebounds by Kristina Kroge of Ammerud.

Ulriken - Asker 69-48 Angela Alvarez (168-G-91) scored 18 points, issued 10 assists and made 6 steals to pace Ulriken past Asker into the championship game.
