The most exciting game of round 16 in the Kvinneligaen took place in Oslo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Ulriken (8-7) to third ranked Ammerud (10-7) 66-63 in the game for the third place. Ammerud shot 29 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Ulriken only scored thirteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Ulriken 50-34 including a 44-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Ulriken helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Tina Nesse (183-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and center Marianne Sand (184-93) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Stine Austgulen (179-94) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ammerud maintains third position with 10-7 record having three points less than leader Gimle. Defending champion Ulriken keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Ammerud will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ulriken will play at home against the league's second-placed Ullern (#2) in Oslo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Rykkinn supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Ullern (11-2) played at the court of 5th ranked BC Asker (2-14). Ullern smashed BC Asker 81-57. The winners were led by the former international guard Tina Moen (181-86, college: IPFW) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and Kristine Kristiansen supported her with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Kristine Skorpen (170-94) did not help to save the game for BC Asker. Ullern have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-2 record having 3 victories less than leader Gimle. BC Asker lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Ullern will play against Ulriken (#4) in Bergen in the next round. BC Asker will have a break next round.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 9 points and 9 rebounds by Kristina Kroge of Ammerud.


BC Asker - Ullern 57-81

Guard Stine Austgulen (179-94) chipped in 20 points. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Kvinneligaen. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ullern (1-1) in Oslo on Sunday night. Stevnsgade signs Katrine Fjaerestad, ex Gimle Pride - 1 month ago
Stevnsgade BBK (Dameligaen) signed 27-year old Norwegian international forward Katrine Fjaerestad (175-90). She has played for the last three seasons at Gimle Pride in Norwegian Kvinneligaen. In 18 games she had 6.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.9spg in 2015-16 season. Fjaerestad helped them to make it to the semifinals. She won Czech Republic D2 championship title in 2011.
