The Regular Season in Kvinneligaen is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 4 rounds.

Top ranked Gimle (14-3) recorded its third loss in Bergen on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Ullern (13-2) 84-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gimle. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Gimle trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-84 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Gimle 38-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (173-75) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Tina Moen (181-86, college: IPFW) chipped in 23 points. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian-American guard Sthefany Thomas (173-89, college: Clemson) produced 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the hosts. Ullern have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-2 record behind leader Gimle. Gimle at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Ullern's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ammerud.

Center Julie McCarthy (187-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kristine Kristiansen contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Stine Austgulen (179-94) answered with 18 points and 5 assists for Ulriken. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Ullern. They maintain second place with 13-2 record behind leader Gimle. Defending champion Ulriken keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Ullern's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Ammerud.



Ulriken - Ullern 65-72

An exciting game was played in Bergen. Second ranked Ullern faced 4th placed Ulriken. Guests from Oslo (13-2) defeated host Ulriken (8-8) 72-65. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ulriken won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ullern forced 21 Ulriken turnovers and outrebounded them 38-22 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Julie McCarthy (187-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (173-75) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Ullern players scored in double figures. Ullern's coach Inge Kristiansen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
