Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (190-G-79) had an amazing evening in the last round for Froya Basket, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, five rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Asker Aliens (#6, 7-17) with 22-point margin 99-77. Froya Basket maintains the 4th position in Norwegian BLNO. Froya Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-12 record. In the team's last game Gabrans had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He has many years of experience at Froya Basket, through which he has constantly improved. Edmunds Gabrans has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.8ppg) and averages impressive 64.0% FGP and 46.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Ronald Timus (197-G/F-84) of Ammerud Bskt. Timus had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Ammerud Bskt was edged by the higher-ranked Baerum Basket (#3, 14-10) 86-84. Ammerud Bskt are still at the very bottom. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Ammerud Bskt managed to get this year. Timus is a newcomer at Ammerud Bskt, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.9rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Froya Basket's star - Latvian guard Reno Silavs (180-PG-91). Silavs scored 20 points and passed nine assists. He was another key player of Froya Basket, helping his team with a 99-77 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Asker Aliens (#6, 7-17). Froya Basket needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 12 lost games. Silavs has a great season in Norway. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.2ppg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Peter Bullock (198-F/C-82) of Froya Basket - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Magnus Midtvedt (182-PG-90) of Asker Aliens - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Anders Stien (195-G-90) of Gimle BBK - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Lionel Green (194-G/F-84) of Baerum Basket - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BLNO, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The biggest surprise took place in Oslo where host Ammerud Bskt (1-3) edged league's leader Nidaros Jets (4-1) 70-67 on Sunday evening.
