KL All-Stars took on the University of Utah basketball team recently. The Norwegian selection could not keep up with the tempo in the second half and had to surrender at the end 44:79. The US team gained a narrow 16:11 lead after ten minutes. The visitors boosted the gap in the second term. They arrived at halftime up by 8 points 33:25. The students took off in the third term. The Utes went on a 21:10 run to build a 19-point lead at the final intermission. The visitors finished off the hosts with a 25:9 rally in the fourth period. Rachel Messer (175-G-90) led the Utes with 19 points. Marianne Sand (184-C-93) answered with 9 points for Norwegian selection. Tina Moen (181-G-86, college: IPFW) added 8 points in the losing effort.

Norwegian U16 National Team travelled to Solna to take part at the traditional Nordic Cup tournament. They claimed one win in five games at the tourney and occupied the fifth overall position.

Sofia Hagg and Kristin Seman added 16 points apiece for Sweden. Solveig Mildestvedt responded with 13 points for Norway. Mie Hoff (179-PF-97) had 8 points in the losing effort. Next Norway faced Iceland. And once again their opponents proved the strength 38:61. Iceland posted a 30:19 halftime lead and rallied to the victory in the second half. Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir delivered 19 points and 8 rebounds for Iceland. Eva Kristjansdottir (180-F-97) had 14 points and 11 boards for the winners. Thale Messel (174-G-97) and Kristin Hannestad (176-SF-97) answered with 7 points apiece for Norway. Norway next took on Denmark. The Danish team jumped to a 28:15 lead after the opening quarter. Norway tried hard to level things up in the next periods but Denmark sit tight on the lead and snatched a 68:49 victory at the end. Sarah Mortensen had 20 points and 7 assists for Denmark. Enna Pehadzic (176-G/F-97) had 10 points and 9 boards for the winning team. Andrea Raa answered with 10 points for Norway. Norway could not match their Finnish opponents in the next game 49:80. Norway stayed within reach in the first half but conceded an 11:28 blow in the third quarter to surrender at the end. Tessa Virtanen (163-SG-97) posted 14 points for Finland. Selina Dockery (180-F/G-97) had 12 points in the win. Ulrikke Hoff (163-PG-97) answered with 13 points for Norway. Solveig Mildestvedt chipped in 10 points in the losing case. Norway however managed to finish their campaign on a high note. They knocked down Estonia 58:36 in the final game of the tourney. Andrea Raa stepped up with 17 points for the winners. Ulrikke Hoff had 9 points for Norway. Laura Reissar (171-PG-97) replied with 12 points for Estonia.

Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-F-96) added 13 points and 11 boards for Iceland. Maja Foeleide (181-PF-95) responded with 24 points and 13 boards for Norway. Kristine Nyegaarden (176-F-95) chipped in 8 points in the loss. The third game turned into a 43:59 loss against Denmark. Once again Norway looked slow in the first half trailing by 13 points at the interval. They tried to bounce back in the third term but Denmark went on a 17:7 run in the fourth frame to seal the win. Julie Hoier (185-F/G-95) posted 18 points to pace Denmark. Frederikke Mollerup (177-G/F-95) notched 13 points and 8 rebounds in the winning case. Maja Foeleide replied with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Norway. Norway also could not match Finland in the fourth game at the tournament 42:76. Finland led from start to finish earning a convincing win. Wilma Purhonen (183-F-95) and Armi Anttila (189-F/C-95) dropped 11 points each to lead the winners. Maja Foeleide responded with game-high 15 points for Norway. Vilde Tveito (182-PF-95) had 8 points in the loss. Finally Norway took on Estonia. And once again the opponents proved the strength. Estonia clinched a 65:40 win in quite a one-sided encounter. Trine Kasemagi (190-C-95) fired 21 points and pulled down 15 boards for Estonia. Jane Svilberg had 14 points and 10 boards for the winning team. Maja Foeleide responded with a double-double of 13 points and 13 boards.
