Calvin Henry
Calvin Henry (198-F-86, college: Mercer) former player of Gimle BBK Bergen (Norway-BLNO) gave an interview:

Why you decided to be a pro player.

I decided to become a pro basketball player because it was always my dream to play basketball as my job, I fell in love with the game at the age of ten. Ever since then I have been working toward this dream.

There are many players without a job fighting for the same spots, how hard is to wait for your ideal offer and not take the first that comes up considering that the next one may not come soon.

The hardest thing about playing overseas basketball is the waiting for jobs. Earlier in my career I would take any job I could get. Now I try to focus on which job is going to help me further my career. I like to get input from my agent and other players that played in that league in the previous year

Which was the best game you had in your career so far?

The best game I had in my career was my first year in Mildura Australia , I had 42 points on 17/19 shooting and 11 rebounds we won the game and at the time improved to a 5-0 record, I had no idea I had that many points , it was a great personal game

Tell us your strong point and your weakness in your game.

I would say the strong point in my game is just being able to do multiple things on the court, score, rebound, block shots, and play defense on multiple positions . Over the last 3 years I have took pride in being able to be an efficient player and shooting over 57 percent from the floor.

Which player was the hardest opponent to play against?

The hardest player I played against was amare stoudmire in high school. We were high school teammates so I got to play against him every day for a year. I was able to learn a lot, see how hard he worked and how far the basketball can take you in life.

Tell about the best teammates you had so far.

I have been very blessed with teammates over the years. In my professional career my favorite teammates are my current teammates in Australia, those guys are like my brothers. Davey Meyer, Brent Symons, jay Madigan,Shannon erskine, Pauly andriotis and micheal wade. I can't say enough about those guys. They are a great bunch

Which coach you want to thank because he made you better player.

The coach that has made me a better player is my high school coach red Johnston, he played a big part in every stage of my career, from high school to overseas. I remember every day he would open the gym for me twice a day for me to get some work in, no matter if it was a holiday, school break, during school, he would help me. I would not be a pro player if it wasn't for him. He has taught me the game but more importantly taught me how to be a leader and a professional. Till this day he is still one of my closest friends.

Role player in a big team or star in a smaller one?

If I had a choice I would prefer a role player on a big team, I am willing to do anything to win, even if it means taking a backseat to your personal game.

Which is your favorite basketball shoe? Which one you wear now?

My favorite basketball shoe is the air Jordan 12, I am currently wearing the kd7s

What plans you have for the future?

My plans for the future is to continue to play and try to get better every day, my goal is to play in a big time league like the euro league or euro challenge.
