BLNO is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 12 rounds left. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Centrum (#6) and Ammerud Bskt (#8). Centrum (7-8) won against visiting Ammerud Bskt (4-10) 86-77. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-10. But Ammerud Bskt won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Aksel Bolinz (201-90, college: N.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Anders Stien (195-90) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-German forward Marco Sanders (202-79, college: Point Park) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 7-8 record. Ammerud Bskt lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Centrum's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Persbraten.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Nidaros Jets (10-6) against seventh ranked Asker Aliens (6-7) on Sunday night. Visiting Nidaros Jets were crushed by Asker Aliens in Asker 87-63. The winners were led by the former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Djo Yele supported him with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Asker Aliens' coach Lars Gunnar Sonsteby felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 19 rebounds by Kenyan Earl Simba (204-92) did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. Asker Aliens maintains seventh position with 6-7 record. Nidaros Jets at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Asker Aliens will play against Ammerud Bskt (#8) in Oslo in the next round. Nidaros Jets will have a break next round.
