Espen Stien
Former international Guard Espen Stien (186-G-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Asker Aliens and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 30-year old guard had the game-high 32 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Asker Aliens in his team's victory, helping them to crush Ammerud Bskt (#8, 5-11) with 20-point margin 90-70. Asker Aliens maintains the 7th position in Norwegian BLNO. Asker Aliens is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Stien had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He has many years of experience at Asker Aliens, through which he has constantly improved. Stien has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.9ppg), assists (8th best: 3.6apg) and averages solid 50.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old Hungarian guard Zoltan Kurinczky (181-G-82) of Persbraten. Kurinczky impressed basketball fans with 38 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Persbraten was edged by slightly higher-ranked Ammerud Bskt (#8, 5-11) 85-82. Persbraten are still at the very bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Persbraten managed to get this year. Kurinczky is a newcomer at Persbraten and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Asker Aliens' star - DR Congolese Djo Yele (203-F/C-82). Yele scored 22 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Asker Aliens, helping his team with a 90-70 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Ammerud Bskt (#8, 5-11). Asker Aliens needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 7 lost games. Yele has a great season in Norway. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.4ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 13.9rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.8bpg and FGP: 60.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-SF-89) of Centrum - 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Marco Sanders (202-F-79) of Ammerud Bskt - 19 points and 9 rebounds
6. Marco Sanders (202-F-79) of Ammerud Bskt - 19 points and 6 rebounds
7. Aksel Bolinz (201-G/F-90) of Centrum - 11 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Alvis Eglitis (195-F-85) of Asker Aliens - 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Aron Furstenberg (192-G-88) of Persbraten - 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Thomas Vangen (184-PG-79) of Ammerud Bskt - 11 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
