Magne
Fivelstad
27-year old swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-G/F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Gimle BBK and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 26 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Gimle BBK in his team's victory, helping them to crush Ammerud Bskt (#9, 5-16) with 20-point margin 76-56. Gimle BBK maintains the 4th position in Norwegian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gimle BBK will need more victories to improve their 11-8 record. Fivelstad has many years of experience at Gimle BBK, through which he has constantly improved. Barry University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fivelstad is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.9ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 12.1rpg) and averages solid 57.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was C.J. Oldham (203-G-91) of top-ranked Kongsberg. He is American guard in his first season at Kongsberg. In the last game Oldham recorded impressive double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Kongsberg to edge slightly lower-ranked Baerum Basket (#2, 13-5) by 4 points 104-100. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kongsberg consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 17 matches. Oldham is a newcomer at Kongsberg and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Djo Yele (203-F/C-82) of Asker Aliens (#5). Yele scored 23 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Asker Aliens, leading his team to a 90-67 easy win against the lower-ranked Persbraten (#10, 1-17). Asker Aliens needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 9 lost games. Yele has a great season in Norway. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 13.3rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.9bpg and FGP: 59.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Stian Mjos (183-PG-89) of Baerum Basket - 36 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
5. C.J. Oldham (203-G-91) of Kongsberg - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Eric Gilchrese (183-PG-87) of Baerum Basket - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Miilah Kombat (198-F-88) of Centrum - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Juan Ferrales (188-G-91) of Kongsberg - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Ali Ouakkaha (187-G-90) of Froya Basket - 11 points and 12 rebounds
10. Alvis Eglitis (195-F-85) of Asker Aliens - 12 points and 15 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
