The most interesting game of round 18 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Nidaros Jets (10-11) to sixth ranked Asker Aliens (11-10) 81-71. Nidaros Jets were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 25-9 charge of Asker Aliens, which allowed them to win the game. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) scored 32 points and 8 rebounds (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian forward Alvis Eglitis (195-85) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Erik Matsen (185-97) with 22 points. Asker Aliens moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Centrum. Nidaros Jets lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Asker Aliens is looking forward to face higher ranked Gimle BBK (#4) in Bergen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nidaros Jets will play at home against Ammerud Bskt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American forward James Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and Stian Mjos supported him with 28 points. Baerum Basket's coach Matthias Eckhoff allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (188-79) did not help to save the game for Froya Basket. Baerum Basket have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Kongsberg. Froya Basket at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Baerum Basket will play against Gimle BBK (#4) in Bergen in the next round. Froya Basket will play on the road against Persbraten in Oslo and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The best player for the winners was James Weatherspoon who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Baerum Basket's coach Matthias Eckhoff felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Eivind Lamo who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Baerum Basket have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Kongsberg. Loser Gimle BBK keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gimle BBK will play again against the league's second-placed Baerum Basket (#2) in Bekkestua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
BLNO top team - Kongsberg (18-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ammerud Bskt (5-17) in Oslo 87-56. It was a good game for Juan Ferrales who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 assists. Coach Bard Stoller's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kongsberg have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Ammerud Bskt lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. Kongsberg's next round opponent will be Tromso (#8) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Ammerud Bskt will play against Nidaros Jets in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Oslo supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Asker Aliens (11-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Centrum (11-10). Centrum smashed Asker Aliens 96-57 on Wednesday. Aksel Bolinz had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Asker Aliens. Centrum's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Persbraten.

In the last two games of round 18 bottom-ranked Persbraten lost to Tromso on the opponent's court 73-76. Tromso outscored Persbraten in a home game 81-62.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Tomislav Gabric of Kongsberg.

Froya Basket - Baerum Basket 78-90

The game between Top Four teams took place in Laksevag. One of their biggest challengers host Froya Basket (12-6) lost to second ranked Baerum Basket (15-5) 90-78. It looked good early as Froya Basket took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Baerum Basket took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Froya Basket outrebounded Baerum Basket 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Froya Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward James Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) supported him with 28 points. BLNO top team - Kongsberg (18-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ammerud Bskt (5-17) in Oslo 87-56. The game was mostly controlled by Kongsberg. Rather expected game when 10th ranked Persbraten (1-19) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Tromso (8-13) 76-73 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Persbraten won fourth quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Hani Issalhi (191-84) had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Aslak Smalas (186-89) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Greek guard Theodor Aliferis (183-88) with 21 points and Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) scored 6 points and 16 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 8-13 record. Persbraten lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games. Tromso will face league's leader Kongsberg at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Persbraten was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Persbraten 40-27 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Hani Issalhi (191-84) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Anders Solem (196-92) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Christian Bakken (198-88) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 8-13 record. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Asker Aliens' 28. They outrebounded Asker Aliens 52-32 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Aksel Bolinz (201-90, college: N.Illinois) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Montana head men's basketball coach Travis DeCuire has added depth to the Grizzly backcourt, signing 6-1 point guard Lars Espe (5'11''-PG-98) from the Gimle BBK club in Bergen, Norway, to a National Letter of Intent on Monday. Nordberg, Fyllingen BBK and Aalesund Sharks celebrated Division 1 titles in Norway. Nordberg won Division 1 East title with a 19-3 record. In the last game they beat OSI 57-51 as Bendik Aunan (185-PG-90) stepped up with 14 points. Halvor Poulsson (191-F-91) and Emil Aas Stoltenberg followed him with 13 each, while Joacim Bergh added 8.
