The most interesting game of round 19 was a home defeat of 6th ranked Asker Aliens (11-11) by fourth ranked Gimle BBK (12-10) who outscored them by 25 points 91-66. Gimle BBK made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Asker Aliens turnovers. It was a great evening for swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Nick Victor (196-92, college: Yale) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Gimle BBK's coach Audun Eskeland felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Gimle BBK maintains fourth place with 12-10 record, which they share with Centrum. Asker Aliens at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Nidaros Jets. Gimle BBK is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Persbraten (#10) in Oslo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward James Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. Eric Gilchrese accounted for 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for Gimle BBK in the defeat. Froya Basket will play against Ammerud Bskt in Oslo and hope to secure a win.
BLNO top team - Kongsberg (20-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Tromso (8-14) 92-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tromso. Worth to mention a great performance of Oivind Lundestad who helped to win the game recording 28 points (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!). Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Kongsberg. They maintain first place with 20-2 record. Tromso at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Kongsberg's next round opponent will be Gimle BBK (#5) in Bergen. Tromso will play on the road against Nidaros Jets in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Baerum Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Ammerud Bskt's 40 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Baerum Basket forced 23 Ammerud Bskt turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Ammerud Bskt's players. Rather expected game in Tromdheim where 9th ranked Ammerud Bskt (5-19) was defeated by seventh ranked Nidaros Jets (11-11) 81-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-68. Nidaros Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ammerud Bskt's 32. They outrebounded Ammerud Bskt 43-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nidaros Jets made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Jakob Baiden (194-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Not a big story in a game in Oslo where 10th ranked Persbraten (1-21) was rolled over by fifth ranked Centrum (12-10) 99-57 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Centrum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Persbraten to just 4 points in second quarter. Centrum dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 32. They outrebounded Persbraten 53-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Centrum looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Aksel Bolinz (201-90, college: N.Illinois) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field).
