Juan
Ferrales
Cuban-American Guard Juan Ferrales (188-G-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Kongsberg, receiving a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, seven rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Persbraten (#10, 2-23) 85-78. It allowed Kongsberg to consolidate first place in the Norwegian BLNO. Kongsberg have a solid 21-4 record. In the team's last game Ferrales had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Kongsberg's top player in his first season with the team. Former Barry University star has very solid stats this year. Ferrales is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.6ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 58.2% FGP and 40.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 34-year old DR Congolese Djo Yele (203-F/C-82) of Asker Aliens. Yele had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 21 rebounds. It was enough for Asker Aliens to edge the higher-ranked Kongsberg (#1, 21-4) 94-93. Asker Aliens' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-13 record. Yele is one of the most experienced players at Asker Aliens and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#5). He also registered 13.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward James Weatherspoon (198-F-92) of league's second-best Baerum Basket. Weatherspoon got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds. He was a key player of Baerum Basket, leading his team to a 102-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Tromso (#8, 8-16). Baerum Basket needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 5 lost games. Weatherspoon has a great season in Norway. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.1ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Eric Gilchrese (183-PG-87) of Baerum Basket - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Aksel Bolinz (201-G/F-90) of Centrum - 20 points and 11 rebounds
6. Earl Simba (204-PF-92) of Nidaros Jets - 17 points and 16 rebounds
7. Jeff Harper (203-F-87) of Froya Basket - 22 points and 9 rebounds
8. Stian Mjos (183-PG-89) of Baerum Basket - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Oivind Lundestad (194-G-91) of Kongsberg - 27 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. C.J. Oldham (203-G-91) of Kongsberg - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
