Tromso - Kongsberg 61-76

Kongsberg rallied past Tromso in the opener. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 29-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Kongsberg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tromso's 30. Kongsberg forced 21 Tromso turnovers. Cuban-American guard Juan Ferrales (188-91, college: Barry) fired 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Croatian guard Tomislav Gabric (198-91, college: Ft.Hays State) chipped in 18 points. Kongsberg's coach Bard Stoller used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Hani Issalhi (191-84) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Aslak Smalas (186-89) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side.

Centrum fired pats Froya Basket to gain 1-0 lead in the quarterfinals. The game without a history. Centrum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Aksel Bolinz (201-90, college: N.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. American Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) contributed with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Centrum players scored in double figures. French forward Ivan Emanuely (199-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Latvian point guard Reno Silavs (180-91) added 14 points in the effort for Froya Basket.

Nidaros Jets - Baerum Basket 82-96

Baerum Basket upset Nidaros Jets on the road to surge ahead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Baerum Basket. Nidaros Jets managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Baerum Basket forced 19 Nidaros Jets turnovers. Strangely Nidaros Jets outrebounded Baerum Basket 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Baerum Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. American forward James Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) stepped up and scored 29 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) chipped in 29 points and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Jakob Baiden (194-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Kahlil McDonald (194-87, college: W.Kentucky) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Gimme BBK trounced Asker Aliens in Game 1. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle BBK. Asker Aliens was better in fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle BBK forced 21 Asker Aliens turnovers and had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Nick Victor (196-92, college: Yale) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and Latvian forward Alvis Eglitis (195-85) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Asker Aliens in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

29-year old center Morakinyo Williams (210-C-88, agency: Interperformances) had a very impressive game in the last round for Ammerud Bskt and receives a Player of the Week award for round 5. There were just five rounds played in Regular Season of BLNO and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games.
