DBE enjoys All-Star Game The weekend brought
some treat for real basketball fans in Poland. DBE organized an
annual basketball show, which was crowned by the All-Star Game. The
event took place before a sellout crowd in Wroclaw. The league's
best performers were divided into Day and Night teams and clashed in
an exciting basketball encounter. It was all thrown into the scales
of entertainment as the game lived up to the highest expectations.
'Day' team used a 27:21 run in the third period to accumulate a
decisive lead and celebrated a close 114:112 victory at the end.
Andrzej Pluta (182-G-74, agency:
Court Side) topscored for the winners with 21 points. He was
trumped the MVP of the All-Star Game.
Jared Homan (206-C-83, college:
Iowa
St.) produced 19 points and 16 rebounds, while
Norman Richardson (196-F/G-77, college:
Hofstra) secured 16 points for the triumphant side.
D.J. Thompson (173-G-85, agency:

Donald Copeland (178-G-84, college:
Seton Hall) accounted for 15 points in a losing effort.
Andrzej Pluta also clinched the victory in the Three-Point
Shootout. He posted 21 points in the final round and edged his main
rival

Aivaras Kiausas (199-F-80) put on the crown of the best dunker.

Indianapolis) advanced into the final round of the Slam Dunk
contest and Slask forward celebrated an impressive victory. He
totaled 73 points and clinched the title of the best dunker.

Prokom Trefl Sopot has won the championship !!!
Prokom Trefl Sopot has won with
BOT Turow Zgorzelec 68:55 and the whole series 4:1
becoming Polish Champion of 2006/2007. That is fourth
championship title in a row for the Club from Sopot.
Turow Zgorzelec was only equal opponent in the first
half. Turow was strugglin from the 3point line (21%) and
from the free throw line (38%) and Prokom was playin
good in defence. Jasmin Hukic has stopped Turow's best
scorer -
Thomas Kelati (195-G/F-82, college:
Washington St.) who scored most of his 16 point in
the end of the game when everybody knew who will be the
winner of the game.
Robert Witka (205-F-81) and
Dragisa Drobnjak (200-F-77, agency:
VTBM/SRBM) were very ineffective from the field and
they were loosing the battle under the basket with
Prokom's big guys - Andersen, Besok and Wojcik.

Prokom Trefl Sopot 72:66 in the big final of the Polish Cup.
Otis Hill (203-C-74, college:
Syracuse) scored 18 points and
Andrzej Pluta (182-G-74, agency:
Court Side) had 15 for Anwil. We did a great job today, it's
not easy to beat Prokom - said Ales Pipan, Anwil's coach.
We wanted to stop Prokom's best scorers - Dalmau, Atkins and Slanina
and we did thanks to tough and well balanced team-defence - he
added. Prokom's leader Donatas Slanina had 14 points on 4-of-5 field
shooting, Christian Dalmau added 9. We did not play as a team
today, we were not organized offensively and in the defence, we need
to work on it - commented Slanina. Prokom lost 33-25 on boards
and made more mistakes. It was a good game, but we committed too
many turnovers, my team played much below expectations - said
coach Kijewski. The MVP of the tournament went to
