After the yesterday pathetic(due the difference of points) defeat against Spain , Portugal played against the European champs in Caceres,Spain in the International Extremadura Tournament. The first half was a copy of the entire game against Spain,in the 1st quarter a partial of 21-8 decided the game and Portugal needs to improve alot as seems they cant do nothing right,in 10 minuts they only made 1 field goal and the many struggles on the ofensive game shows they need to practise alot on the tathical field. The 2nd quarter Portugal did more scoring 12 points,at the half Russia had 47pts and Portugal stats were a shame with 4-21 in field goals,15 turnovers,16 fouls. In the 3rd quarter everything was diferent with the 3 point shots Portugal ended the period with a tie in those 10 minuts(24-24) and won the last quarter with a partial of 20-15 due the fact Russia in the last quarter was using their bench ,Paulo Cunha only played 1.08minuts because he got himself injured.

Portugal started the game well in the 1st partial things were still more or less equilibrated but in the next 2 quarters Portugal ridiculouly just scored 7 points! ,the last quarter both teams were playing for nothing,Spain did some show and some highlights with some alley hoops and Portugal responded with some 3pts shots.
Next game it will be against Russia ,another game that seems might be another nightmare.
Moncho Lopez ,portuguese head coach said that this was a game to forget and keep working looking forward to the team future ,and said Spain is already better prepared as they will compete in the Olimpics next month and Portugal will just compete in September for the Euro qualification.

Last season they made the playoffs and lost to Ovarense in the 1st round but his work was a good work at the global level,Carlos Freire will still be as well the assistant coach,place he already did last season and Bruno Regalo will be the under20 coach with the help of Antonio Paulo Ferreira and the 2nd assistant coach in Barreirense due fact the the under20 team is almost the senior team.
Belenenses signed two young former Benfica players such as Arnette Hallman (199-F-88) (199-F-88) the 20 years old,6'7 forward ,son of Arnette Hallman who played for Boston Celtics (NBA) in the 80's that is been one of the youth players in Portugal with more quality will get more minuts in his new team ,maybe 1 of the factors that decided him to pick Belenenses team and Tiago Freixo (187-G-87),position
