Asseco Prokom continued their dominance in PLK. They outgunned PGE Turow
to clinch the eighth straight title.
Ronnie Burrell (204-F-83, agency:
Pro One Sports, college:
NC-Greensboro) provided 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead
well-balanced effort from the Gdynia team in the decisive seventh game
of the series.
Asseco Prokom shocked their opponents in the first frame. The hosts
outscored PGE Turow 24:9 to build a comfortable lead. PGE Turow stopped
the rot in the second frame. The visitors narrowed the gap to 12 points
at the interval 38:26. PGE Turow continued to mount pressure in the
third quarter.
David Jackson (193-G-86, college:
W.Illinois) and Wysocki dragged PGE Turow within 4 points 35:38
early in the third term. But it was not enough Asseco Prokom enlarged
the lead to as many as 9 points at the final break 50:41. The hosts
scored four points in a row to open the fourth quarter.

W.Kentucky) boosted the gap to 16 points midway through the final
term. PGE Turow scored seven points in a row but it was too little to
challenge Asseco Prokom. PGE Turow kept on trying and cut the distance
to 5 points with just over two minutes remaining.
David Jackson dragged the visitors as close as three points with 93
seconds to go. But
Filip Videnov, Szubarga and
Daniel Ewing sealed the winning outcome for Asseco Prokom from the
charity stripe.
Daniel Ewing had 11 points, while
Courtney Eldridge (176-G-80, college:
NC-Greensboro) netted 10 points in the victory.
Daniel Kickert (208-C-83, college:
St.Mary's, CA) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds for PGE Turow.
David Jackson posted 17 points in the loss.
Polpharma wrote clubs history yesterday. They overcame Anwil to clinch
the first ever Polish Cup title.
Kamil Chanas (188-G-85) knocked down 19 points to lead Polpharma.
Robert Skibniewski (182-G-83) added 13 points and 7 assists in the
victory. He was named the MVP of the Cup Final Four.
The first quarter turned into a balanced battle of two well-matched
teams. Anwil eked out a 20:19 lead after ten minutes. But Polpharma
surged ahead with a help of
Kamil Chanas in the second term. They recorded a 41:36 lead at
halftime. Polpharma stayed in charge in the third term. They stretched
the gap to 17 points before Anwil cut it back to 11 with one quarter
remaining 52:63. Anwil stormed into the final period cutting the deficit
to only three points 60:63. But
Deonta Vaughn (185-G-86, college:
Cincinnati) came up with a couple key baskets at the moment to cool
things down. Polpharma regained confidence and rallied to the victory at
the end.
Deonta Vaughn scored 15 points, while
Uros Mirkovic (205-F/C-82, agency:
BeoExcell) had 11 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.
Chris Thomas (186-G-82, college:
Notre Dame) answered with 15 points for Anwil.
Andrzej Pluta (182-G-74, agency:
Court Side) provided 13 points in the loss.

Asseco Prokom - AZS Koszalin 89:78
Asseco Prokom clinched the Polish SuperCup title. They held off AZS
Koszalin in Gdynia tonight.

St.) fired 22 points to lead the defending champions to another
title. Asseco Prokom surged in front early in the encounter. But they
failed to clear off substantially. AZS Koszalin managed to stay within
striking distance. Led by

Mississippi St.) AZS Koszalin drew things level at 26 after ten
minutes. AZS Koszalin pulled in front early in the second stanza. But
Asseco Prokom quickly stopped the bleeding. The PLK champions earned a
narrow 47:45 advantage at halftime. The Gdynia team opened the second
half on a 9:2 rally to post a 9-point advantage. They limited AZS
Koszalin to just 8 points in the stanza earning a comfortable 19-point
cushion before the fourth frame. Asseco Prokom did not loosen the grasp
in the fourth period. They dominated on the court and celebrated a
well-deserved win at the end.
