Stelmet ZG are the new PLK champions. They swept the championship series against PGE Turow. Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84, college: Fresno St.) fired 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead Stelmet ZG to the decisive fourth win in the series tonight.
Stelmet ZG exploded with 28 points in the opening quarter. They grabbed a 4-point lead at the first break. The hosts raised the pressure in the second term. Stelmet ZG established a 55:44 halftime lead. PGE Turow adjusted defensively and tried to change the complexion of the game in the third term. But the visitors cut the deficit by just one point trailing by 10 at the final break. Stelmet Zielona Gora opened the fourth period with five straight points and never looked back again. Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida) delivered 16 points, while Oliver Stevic (204-F/C-84, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points for the winners. Russell Robinson (185-PG-86) responded with 22 points for PGE Turow. Aaron Cel (203-F-87) netted 13 points in the loss.

Trefl Sopot are the Intermarche Basket Cup winners. They defeated AZS Koszalin in the Final tonight. Frank Turner (178-PG-88, agency: Court Side, college: Canisius) nailed 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to pace the winners.
AZS Koszalin started the game strong. They held their opponents to just 11 points in the first quarter to take a 3-point lead. But Trefl Sopot quickly recovered. They adjusted their offence in the second term scoring 17 points and posting a 28:26 halftime lead. Trefl Sopot deepened the distance in the third quarter. They went on a 19:10 surge to ensure a comfortable 11-point lead heading into the fourth frame. AZS Koszalin trailed by as many as 10 points with just 29 seconds remaining. But Cameron Bennerman (193-G-84, college: N.Carolina St.) and Skibniewski drained back-to-back triples to put the hosts within four. Harrington sank one free throw to calm things down and Trefl Sopot secured the victory at the end. Adam Waczynski (199-G/F-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) provided 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Filip Dylewicz (202-F-80) added 14 points for the winners. Cameron Bennerman answered with 18 points for AZS Koszalin. Pawel Leonczyk (202-F-86, agency: Promotex) and Lukasz Wisniewski (186-G-84, agency: Promotex, college: Barton County CC) had 12 points each for the home team.

Czech/Polish All-Star Game held in Wroclaw - Feb 24, 2013

TBL All-Stars NBL All-Stars 109:104

TBL All-Stars defeated NBL All-Stars in the first Czech-Polish Leagues All-Star Game held in Wroclaw tonight. Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida) nailed 22 points to lead the winners. He was named the MVP after the clash.
The first quarter belonged to the TBL All-Stars. The Polish stars jumped to a 32:26 advantage. NBL selection cut the deficit in the second frame. They trimmed the gap at just 3 points at the interval 58:55. NBL All-Stars got even closer in the third quarter. They narrowed the deficit to just two points heading into the fourth frame. But TBL selection went on a 23:20 run in the final period and sealed the victory at the end. Filip Dylewicz (202-F-80) contributed 14 points, while Ben McCauley (206-F/C-86, college: N.Carolina St.) added 13 points for the TBL All-Stars. Michael Deloach (183-PG-86, college: Norfolk St.) answered with 27 points for the NBL selection. Evaldas Zabas (188-PG-88) produced 18 points in the loss.
Michael Deloach celebrated victory in the traditional Slam Dunk Contest. He overcame Austin Dufault (205-F-90, college: Colorado) and Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-SG-86, agency: Alti Sport, college: Independence CC) in the Final.
Przemyslaw Zamojski won the Three-Point Shootout Contest. He prevailed against Chylinski in the Final.

Trefl Sopot claimed the first trophy of the new season. They overcame PLK champions Asseco Prokom for the SuperCup title. Adam Waczynski (199-G/F-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) stepped up with 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the winners.
Trefl Sopot eked out a 19:17 lead after ten minutes of action. The teams traded baskets throughout close second frame. Trefl Sopot managed to secure a 36:34 halftime lead. The teams remained neck and neck throughout the third quarter. Viney and Ponitka put Asseco Prokom in front but not for long. Trefl Sopot regained the lead and entered the fourth quarter up by a single point 54:53. Adam Waczynski stretched the lead to 9 points early in the final quarter. Jerel Blassingame (175-PG-81, college: UNLV) put Asseco Prokom within two points 61:63. But Trefl went on a 10:2 rally to take a 10-point lead. Asseco Prokom could not recover in the remaining minutes and had to surrender at the end. Frank Turner (178-PG-88, agency: Court Side, college: Canisius) finished with 15 points, while Filip Dylewicz (202-F-80) added 14 points in the win. Jerel Blassingame answered with 21 points for Asseco Prokom. Lukasz Koszarek (187-PG-84) had 14 points in the loss.
