Interview with the head coach of CCC Polkowice Arkadiusz Rusin - Mar 12, 2012

Arkadiusz
Rusin
CCC Polkowices head coach Arkadiusz Rusin answered a few questions. I encourage you to read this interview.

- Were you surprised when after the resignation of Krzysztof Koziorowicz it is the CCC Polkowice offered you the position of the first coach? Management could look for a coach with already recognized position in the basketball world.

- The biggest surprise was the resignation of Krzysztof Koziorowicz. There was not much time for the decision. At first I had play the role of the first coach for 2 weeks.
Decision of the President I have this position until now with the help from Krzysztof Szewczyk (coach assistant). I know that it was some candidatures for a position of the head
coach, but it is a good question for club management. .

- Your team was able to advance, as a rookie, to the 1/8 final of Euroleague, where was eliminated by Ros Casares. It is hard to be disappointed, but I was possible to 'squeeze' something more from the team?

- Euroleague is a big challenge and valuable experience for us. We had good and bad games in this competition. We are a little bit unsatisfied after games in Sopron, Schio and
Nadezhda Orenburg in our arena. Duel with Ros Casares was a rivalry with very strong team. Almost all players are in their national teams and the coach has a big choice on
each position. Sure, we could defend some actions and score more points. At the moment, we do not have enough power to fight with Ros Casares.

- How big is the difference between CCC Polkowice and the best European teams like Ros Casares?

- The biggest difference is in the budget. In basketball, we have less players on international level and individual abilities. In my opinion Ros Casares have the best big players (FC
and C) in Europe.

- Two players joined the CCC Polkowice recently: Jantel Lavender and Agnieszka Bibrzycka. How is their acclimatization in the team and how their arrival affected the team?

- Agnieszka Bibrzycka comes back to the good shape. She is better with every week and every game. She showed us it in the game against Energa Torun. I hope that in the
most important games in the playoffs she will be in top form. Jantel Lavender would be a big strengthening of our power behind the bench. I know that she can play better that
now and I believe she will help the team in the most important games of the season.

- Before you had a nomination as head coach of CCC Polkowice you had contact with junior teams and second team. There are a few young players in clubs roster. When will they be ready for playing roles of team leaders?

- Young athletes must first believe in yourself, at work and fight for his minutes. This creates the opportunity for training and matches in 1 league. Their attitude is closely
observed and is interpreted to give them a chance. We cannot have that sometimes in matches and in training their involvement is not a hundred percent. The contestant must be
constantly determined to improve their skills. It's hard to play in a team like CCC Polkowice, if a young player does not meet such basic conditions.

- It seems that Wisla Can-Pack Krakow has the biggest to be a PLKK champion, but CCC Polkowice is regarded as the most dangerous rival for Wisla. What element of the game you sees the chance to beat Wisla?

- It is hard to say at the moment who will fight for a tittle. Of course there is a big favorite the participant of Euroleague Final Eight Wisa Can-Pack Krakw. Sure, we want to
be in the final of the PLKK. There number of factors will be decisive for the result - physical preparation, team spirit and determination in every game. I hope that will be our
features.

- A few days ago, your team's ended their adventure with the Polish Cup after the game with Wisla Can-Pack Krakow. What is your opinion about this game? What was the biggest obstacle to win that game?

- We were playing without our two big players Frazee and Majewska. Wisla Can-Pack Krakw was more completive team and was playing better in defense. We lacked of
execution of small players and rebounds.

-The next league game CCC Polkowice plays with Lotos Gdynia. The winner of the game will have a big chance for a second place after regular season. How can you prepare the team before that important game?

- Preparations generally do not differ from the standards that apply in our club before each meeting. Analysis of the opponent's game, grinding our game systems and appropriate
adjustment for the opponent's defense of Gdynia.

-Play-off starts next week. Which team will be the best rival for CCC Polkowice in first round of play-off? Which you want to avoid in that games?

- Play-off is not a matter of choice. Teams work all regular season to take the best possible position before the playoffs. No matter who we will get we are ready to fight a
hundred percent, and this attitude we take to compete with anyone.
