Ginyard
The Regular Season in TBL just started. There was no lack of interesting games this round.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Kotwica (0-1) in Kolobrzeg on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Anwil (1-0) 81-69. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 34-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Anwil well out of reach of Kotwica shooting 73.2 percent from the field. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-G/F-87, agency: Interperformances, college: N.Carolina) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Anwil's coach Dainius Adomaitis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Anwil is looking forward to face Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora in the next round. Kotwica will play on the road against Siarka Jezioro in Tarnobrzeg and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Koszalin. Siarka Jezioro (1-0) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging AZS Koszalin (0-1) 78-77 on Saturday evening. American point guard Matt Addison (172-87, college: Hardin-Simmons) nailed 21 points for the winning side and Xavier Alexander accounted for 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for AZS Koszalin in the defeat. Siarka Jezioro will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Asseco Prokom in Gdynia to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game took place in Zielona Gora where Energa Czarni (0-1) was upset on the court of leader Stelmet ZG (1-0) 94-73 on Saturday. Quinton Hosley fired 24 points and 4 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for lost side. Stelmet ZG will meet Anwil in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Energa Czarni will play against PGE Turow in Zgorzelec.
An interesting game took place in Sopot where Polpharma (0-1) was upset on the court of Trefl Sopot (1-0) 87-65. Worth to mention a great performance of Frank Turner who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 9 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Trefl Sopot's next round opponent will be Start Gdynia at home which should be another easy win for them. Polpharma will play against Rosa Radom.
PGE Turow (1-0) crushed at home Rosa Radom (0-1) by 38 points 109-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Djordje Micic stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. PGE Turow will face Energa Czarni in Slupsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rosa Radom will play on the road against Polpharma in Starogard.

In the last game of round 1 Start Gdynia lost to Asseco Prokom on the opponent's court 60-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 29 points and 9 rebounds by Ben McCauley of Polpharma.
