The most exciting game of round 7 in the TBL took place in Zielona Gora. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked AZS Koszalin (4-3) to fourth ranked Stelmet ZG (5-2) 75-74 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS Koszalin. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 24-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Stelmet ZG shot 29 for 40 from the free-throw line, while AZS Koszalin only scored ten points from the stripe. 32 personal fouls committed by AZS Koszalin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. American power forward Darrell Harris (208-84, college: Rhode Island) produced 9 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Stelmet ZG moved-up to third place, which they share with Energa Czarni. AZS Koszalin at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Stelmet ZG is looking forward to face Kotwica (#8) in Kolobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS Koszalin will play at home against the league's second-placed PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Leader Trefl Sopot delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Rosa Radom (2-5) 77-65. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. Filip Dylewicz contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Slaven Cupkovic (205-88, agency: BeoExcell) answered with 19 points for Rosa Radom. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl Sopot have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Rosa Radom keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Trefl Sopot will play against Energa Czarni (#4) in Slupsk in the next round. Rosa Radom will play on the road against Energa Czarni (#4) in Slupsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Energa Czarni have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Stelmet ZG. Defending champion Asseco Prok. dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Energa Czarni will meet at home league's leader Trefl Sopot in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Asseco Prok. will play against Anwil (#7) in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Siarka Jezioro was defeated by Anwil in Wloclawek 81-74. Kotwica beat Polpharma at home 83-75. Bottom-ranked Start Gdynia lost to PGE Turow on the opponent's court 55-66.



Energa Czarni - Asseco Prok. 62-58

The game in Slupsk was also quite interesting. 4th placed Asseco Prok. (4-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Energa Czarni (5-2). Energa Czarni managed to secure a 4-point victory 62-58 on Monday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Asseco Prok.. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asseco Prok. won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energa Czarni made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Marcin Dutkiewicz (196-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) helped adding 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Everything could happen in Wloclawek at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Anwil and 10th ranked Siarka Jezioro had identical 2-4 record. This time Anwil used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tarnobrzeg 81-74 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Siarka Jezioro won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Anwil won last quarter 27-21. Anwil outrebounded Siarka Jezioro 46-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Nicchaeus Doaks (202-87, college: Chattanooga) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Leader Trefl Sopot delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Rosa Radom (2-5) 77-65. The game was mostly controlled by Trefl Sopot. Rosa Radom was better in second period 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Filip Dylewicz (202-80) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Slaven Cupkovic (205-88, agency: BeoExcell) answered with 19 points and American power forward Kim Adams (201-82, college: Arkansas St.) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Rosa Radom. There was a small surprise in Kolobrzeg where eleventh ranked Kotwica (2-5) defeated 9th ranked Polpharma (2-5) 83-75 on Saturday. Polpharma was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-15 charge of Kotwica, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Polpharma's 24. They outrebounded Polpharma 41-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Kotwica looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Jaroslaw Zyskowski (201-92, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Center Rafal Rajewicz (203-88, agency: Promotex) helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-89) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Lukasz Majewski (199-82) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kotwica moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Polpharma. Polpharma lost their fourth game in a row. Kotwica will meet at home higher ranked Stelmet ZG (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Very expected game in Zgorzelec where 12th ranked Start Gdynia (1-6) was defeated by third ranked PGE Turow (5-1) 66-55 on Thursday. The game without a history. PGE Turow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for naturalized French forward Aaron Cel (203-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 17 points. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
