Lietuvos rytas - PGE Turow 78:71

PGE Turow lost the game in Lithuania to drop at 1-5 record in their debut season in VTB league. Lietuvos rytas beat the Polish representative 78:71 for 3-3 record.
The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But PGE Turow won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietuvos rytas made 18-of-23 free shots during the game. Lietuvos rytas outrebounded PGE Turow 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. PGE Turow was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
Steponas Babrauskas (197-G/F-84) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Leon Radosevic (206-C-90) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was David Jackson (193-G-86, college: W.Illinois) with 11 points and 4 assists and Vukasin Aleksic (184-PG-85, agency: Beo Basket) scored 8 points and 5 assists.
PGE Turow keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Lietuvos rytas will face league's second-placed Khimky in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. PGE Turow will play at home against BC Donetsk.

Darius Maskoliunas takes over Trefl Sopot - Jun 18, 2013

Trefl Sopot announced the name of their new head coach. Darius Maskoliunas will guide Trefl in 2013/14 season. The Lithuanian specialist worked with Lietuvos Rytas last season. He was fired in March. Previously he guided Zalgiris Kaunas. Darius Maskoliunas is not new to Sopot. He played for Trefl back in 1999/2003 seasons. Michal Jankowski heads to Slupsk - Jun 18, 2013

Michal Jankowski (192-G-87) will continue his career in Energa Czarni. The guard signed a one-year deal with the Slupsk team. Last season Michal Jankowski spent with Start Gdynia. He notched 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game in TBL. Previously Michal Jankowski played for AZS Koszalin, Polonia 2011 Warszawa, Iskra Czestochowa. He became 1Liga champion in 2009. Anwil Wloclawek bolstered their roster. They added Mateusz Kostrzewski (201-G/F-89) to the squad. The forward spent the last season with Energa Czarni. He notched 7.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in PLK. Previously he played for Start Gdynia, Asseco Prokom, PZKosz Sopot. He was trumped All-Polish 1Liga Player of the Year in 2012.
