There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Energa Czarni (7-3) in Slupsk on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Start Gdynia (3-6) 82-68. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Energa Czarni. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 47-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Grzegorz Mordzak (183-77, agency: Promotex) chipped in 17 points. Start Gdynia's coach David Dedek used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian Valdas Dabkus (204-84) with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Start Gdynia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Kotwica and Polpharma. Energa Czarni at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Start Gdynia is looking forward to face higher ranked Anwil (#7) in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Energa Czarni will play on the road against AZS Koszalin (#4) and is hoping to win this game.

Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Anwil have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 5-4 record. Trefl Sopot at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Stelmet ZG and AZS Koszalin. Anwil will play against Start Gdynia (#10) on the road in the next round. Trefl Sopot will play against Siarka Jezioro (#11) in Tarnobrzeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
TBL top team - Energa Czarni (7-3) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Rosa Radom (2-8) in Slupsk 83-74. The best player for the winners was Todd Abernethy who scored 16 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Artur Donigiewicz who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds. Rosa Radom's coach Mariusz Karol rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Czarni have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-3 record. Rosa Radom lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Energa Czarni will meet AZS Koszalin (#4) on the road in the next round. Rosa Radom will play against Kotwica (#8) in Kolobrzeg and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Tarnobrzeg. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Siarka Jezioro (2-7) to sixth ranked Asseco Prok. (5-3) 81-79 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Adam Hrycaniuk who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Asseco Prok.'s coach Kestutis Kemzura allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 5-3 record. Siarka Jezioro lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Asseco Prok.'s next round opponent will be Polpharma (#9) in Starogard. Siarka Jezioro will play on the road against Trefl Sopot.
Third ranked PGE Turow (6-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Kotwica (3-6) by 16 points 96-80, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kotwica. Ivan Zigeranovic stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. PGE Turow moved-up to second place. Loser Kotwica keeps the eighth position with six games lost. PGE Turow will face Stelmet ZG (#5) in Zielona Gora in the next round. Kotwica will play at home against Rosa Radom.

In the last two games of round 9 AZS Koszalin won against Rosa Radom on the opponent's court 97-91. Stelmet ZG managed to outperform Polpharma in a home game 89-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points and 13 rebounds by Darrell Harris of AZS Koszalin.


Siarka Jezioro - Asseco Prok. 79-81

A very interesting game took place in Tarnobrzeg. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Siarka Jezioro (2-7) to sixth ranked Asseco Prok. (5-3) 81-79 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Siarka Jezioro took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Asseco Prok. took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. It was a good game for international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Alex Acker (196-83, college: Pepperdine) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Asseco Prok.'s coach Kestutis Kemzura allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and American guard J.T. Tiller (191-88, college: Missouri, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Siarka Jezioro. Five Siarka Jezioro players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 5-3 record. Siarka Jezioro lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Asseco Prok.'s next round opponent will be Polpharma (#9) in Starogard. Siarka Jezioro will play on the road against Trefl Sopot.

Very expected game when 12th ranked Rosa Radom (2-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked AZS Koszalin (6-3) 97-91 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 30-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Rosa Radom was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Third ranked PGE Turow (6-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Kotwica (3-6) by 16 points 96-80, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kotwica. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. Kotwica was better in fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kotwica was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Polpharma was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Polpharma 40-23 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Stelmet ZG looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Marcin Sroka (200-81, agency: Promotex) chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. TBL top team - Energa Czarni (7-3) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Rosa Radom (2-8) in Slupsk 83-74. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Todd Abernethy (185-84, college: Mississippi) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. The former international forward Robert Tomaszek (204-81, college: Texas Tech, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Artur Donigiewicz (185-84) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and American guard J.J. Montgomery (196-82, college: Arkansas St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Rosa Radom's coach Mariusz Karol rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Energa Czarni have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-3 record. Rosa Radom lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Energa Czarni will meet AZS Koszalin (#4) on the road in the next round. Rosa Radom will play against Kotwica (#8) in Kolobrzeg and hope to secure a win.

AZS Koszalin (PLK) tabbed 23-year old American point guard Diante Baldwin (183-82kg-94). He just graduated from NC-Greensboro (NCAA). Baldwin has played there for the last four years.
