Leader Slask Wroclaw delivered the thirteenth win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked AZS Radex (6-8) 77-57. The game without a history. Slask Wroclaw led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by AZS Radex helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Marcin Flieger (182-84, agency: Promotex) who scored 15 points and 4 assists. The former international guard Pawel Kikowski (193-86, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 17 points. Slask Wroclaw's coach Jerzy Chudeusz used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Krzysztof Mielczarek (198-81) produced 16 points for the guests. Slask Wroclaw (13-1) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position. AZS Radex at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Slask Wroclaw are looking forward to face MOSiR Krosno (#5) on the road in the next round. AZS Radex will play against Stal Ostrow in Ostrow Wlkp. and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Przemysl, where 7th ranked Spojnia (6-8) lost to tenth ranked Polonia (7-7) in a road game 56-74. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Grzegorz Kukielka contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Arkadiusz Soczewski (202-82) replied with 13 points for Spojnia. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polonia moved-up to seventh place. Spojnia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Polonia will play against Znicz Basket (#9) in Pruszkow in the next round. Spojnia will play at home against Astoria Bydg. in Bydgoszcz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Lublin. Local WIKANA Start (6-8) outscored 16th ranked AZS PP (1-13) 95-62 on Saturday night. Marcel Wilczek scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Adam Metelski responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. WIKANA Start moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. AZS PP lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. WIKANA Start will meet P.Cukier SIDEn (#10) in the next round. AZS PP will play against SKK Siedlce (#13).

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
AZS Kutno defeated SKK Siedlce in a road game 70-58. Stal Ostrow beat P.Cukier SIDEn at home 76-69. UMKS Kielce lost to Sokol Lancut on the opponent's court 64-75. Astoria Bydg. unfortunately lost to MOSiR Krosno in a home game 62-80. Znicz Basket recorded a loss to MKS DG on the road 59-66.


SKK Siedlce - AZS Kutno 58-70

There was no surprise when 13th ranked SKK Siedlce (5-9) was defeated at home by second ranked AZS Kutno (11-3) 70-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Kutno. SKK Siedlce managed to win third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Kutno forced 19 SKK Siedlce turnovers. Forward Jakub Dluski (200-87) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Forward Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Kutno have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Slask Wroclaw. Loser SKK Siedlce keeps the thirteenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Astoria Bydg.. AZS Kutno will meet at home Sokol Lancut (#6) in the next round. SKK Siedlce will play against AZS PP (#16) in Pozoan and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 15th ranked UMKS Kielce (3-11) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Sokol Lancut (8-6) 75-64 on Saturday. Sokol Lancut outrebounded UMKS Kielce 43-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. MKS DG - Znicz Basket 66-59

Not a big story in a game in Dabrowa Gornicza where 9th ranked Znicz Basket (6-8) was defeated by fourth ranked MKS DG (10-4) 66-59 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 24-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. MKS DG dominated on the defensive end, holding Znicz Basket to just 6 points in fourth quarter. MKS DG shot 27 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Znicz Basket only scored six points from the stripe. MKS DG forced 20 Znicz Basket turnovers. Swingman Marek Piechowicz (203-88) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Lukasz Grzegorzewski (192-84) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and forward Lukasz Bonarek (198-93) scored 11 points. Znicz Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MKS DG moved-up to third place, which they share with Stal Ostrow. Loser Znicz Basket dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. MKS DG will meet UMKS Kielce (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Znicz Basket will play against Polonia (#7) in Przemysl and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Polonia - Spojnia 74-56

We should mention about the upset which took place in Przemysl, where 7th ranked Spojnia (6-8) lost to tenth ranked Polonia (7-7) in a road game 56-74. It looked good early as Spojnia took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Polonia had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and Spojnia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-74. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Grzegorz Kukielka (192-83, agency: Promotex) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Arkadiusz Soczewski (202-82) replied with 13 points and forward Hubert Pabian (202-89, agency: Promotex) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Spojnia. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polonia moved-up to seventh place. Spojnia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Polonia will play against Znicz Basket (#9) in Pruszkow in the next round. Spojnia will play at home against Astoria Bydg. in Bydgoszcz and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Miasto Szkla Krosno (PLK) agreed terms with 26-year old Latvian international guard Davis Lejasmeiers (192-84kg-91). He moved there from Sodertalje Kings in Swedish Basketligan where he played this season. In 47 Basketligan games he had 10.9ppg, 2.9rpg and 4.0apg. Lejasmeiers helped them to make it to the final.
