Top ranked PGE Turow (10-3) recorded its third loss in Zgorzelec on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Asseco Prok. (9-4) 86-80. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. PGE Turow trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 26-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 80-86 at the end of the game. Asseco Prok. made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) fired 23 points for the winners. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) chipped in 19 points. Asseco Prok.'s coach Andrzej Adamek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized French forward Aaron Cel (203-87) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG and Trefl Sopot. PGE Turow at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Asseco Prok. is looking forward to face Kotwica (#8) in Kolobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PGE Turow will play on the road against Anwil (#7) in Wloclawek and is hoping to win this game.

Worth to mention a great performance of international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Robert Witka contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds for AZS Koszalin. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG and Trefl Sopot. AZS Koszalin at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Asseco Prok. will play against Kotwica (#8) in Kolobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS Koszalin will play on the road against the league's second-placed Trefl Sopot and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Trefl Sopot moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG and Asseco Prok. Newly promoted Start Gdynia keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Trefl Sopot's next round opponent will be AZS Koszalin (#5) at home. Start Gdynia will play against Polpharma in Starogard and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 13 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Siarka Jezioro was defeated by Kotwica in Kolobrzeg 86-77. Stelmet ZG beat Anwil at home 90-84. Polpharma won against Rosa Radom on the opponent's court 83-73.


PGE Turow - Energa Czarni 104-94

Leader PGE Turow delivered the tenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Energa Czarni (8-6) 104-94 in Zgorzelec. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. PGE Turow made 36-of-38 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. The former international guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 28 points and 6 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) for the winners and Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the losing side naturalized Israeli guard Oded Brandwein (186-88, agency: N.E.T.) responded with 31 points and 7 assists and American guard Levi Knutson (193-88, college: Colorado, agency: FCM) scored 16 points (made all of his seven free throws). Four PGE Turow and five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. PGE Turow maintains first place with 10-3 record. Loser Energa Czarni keeps the sixth position with six games lost. PGE Turow will meet Anwil (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Energa Czarni will have a break next round.

The game in Gdynia supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Trefl Sopot (9-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Start Gdynia (4-9). Trefl Sopot smashed Start Gdynia 95-56. The game was mostly controlled by Trefl Sopot. Start Gdynia was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Start Gdynia 36-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Trefl Sopot players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Start Gdynia's players. 25 personal fouls committed by Start Gdynia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. There was a minor upset in Kolobrzeg where 8th ranked Siarka Jezioro (4-9) was defeated by tenth ranked Kotwica (4-9) 86-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Siarka Jezioro won third quarter 25-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kotwica players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Swingman Grzegorz Arabas (190-78, agency: Promotex) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) accounted for 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) came up with 24 points and American guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Siarka Jezioro in the defeat. Kotwica moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Siarka Jezioro. Kotwica's next round opponent will be higher ranked Asseco Prok. Naturalized Bosnian forward Seid Hajric (203-83) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) added 16 points and 8 assists respectively for Anwil in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Stelmet ZG have a solid series of three victories in a row.
