The most exciting game of round 16 in the 1Liga took place in Kutno. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers MKS DG (11-5) to second ranked AZS Kutno (12-4) 75-73 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MKS DG. MKS DG was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of AZS Kutno, which allowed them to win the game. AZS Kutno had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Dawid Brek (185-89, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and point guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86) who added 14 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Lukasz Grzegorzewski (192-84) responded with 15 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AZS Kutno maintains second position with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Slask Wroclaw. MKS DG at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Stal Ostrow. AZS Kutno are looking forward to face Znicz Basket (#7) in Pruszkow in the next round where they are favorite. MKS DG will play at home against AZS PP (#16) in Pozoan and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Stal Ostrow (11-5) against fifth ranked MOSiR Krosno (10-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Stal Ostrow was defeated by MOSiR Krosno in a tough game in Krosno 69-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stal Ostrow. The winners were led by point guard Kamil Laczynski (180-89) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 assists and Dariusz Oczkowicz supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds by power forward Wojciech Zurawski (199-76) did not help to save the game for Stal Ostrow. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MOSiR Krosno maintains fifth position with 10-6 record, which they share with Sokol Lancut. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with MKS DG. MOSiR Krosno will play against WIKANA Start (#10) in Lublin in the next round where they are favorite. Stal Ostrow will play at home against Spojnia (#12) in Stargard and hopes to get back on the winning track.
1Liga top team - Slask Wroclaw (15-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Spojnia (6-10) in Stargard 75-71. Marcin Flieger fired 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Slask Wroclaw's coach Jerzy Chudeusz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Tomasz Stepien produced 18 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Slask Wroclaw have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Spojnia lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Astoria Bydg. and AZS Radex. Slask Wroclaw will meet at home Astoria Bydg. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spojnia will play against Stal Ostrow in Ostrow Wlkp. and hope to secure a win.

It was a very good performance for Marcel Wilczek who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). AZS Radex's coach Zbigniew Majcherek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. WIKANA Start maintains tenth position with 7-9 record. AZS Radex lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. WIKANA Start's next round opponent will be higher ranked MOSiR Krosno (#5) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. AZS Radex will play against SKK Siedlce (#14).
Ninth ranked Polonia (8-8) crushed at home 11th ranked Astoria Bydg. (6-10) by 19 points 94-75, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Michal Musijowski who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Astoria Bydg.'s coach Jaroslaw Zawadka let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Polonia moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Znicz Basket and P.Cukier SIDEn. Newly promoted Astoria Bydg. keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Polonia will face UMKS Kielce (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astoria Bydg. will play against the league's leader Slask Wroclaw (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16: Sokol Lancut won against AZS PP on the opponent's court 66-51. P.Cukier SIDEn managed to outperform SKK Siedlce in a home game 67-53. Znicz Basket managed to beat UMKS Kielce on the road 73-68.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Adam Lisewski of P.Cukier SIDEn.

Polonia - Astoria Bydg. 94-75

Ninth ranked Polonia (8-8) crushed at home 11th ranked Astoria Bydg. (6-10) by 19 points 94-75, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The game without a history. Polonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Polonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of point guard Michal Musijowski (180-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and center Dariusz Wyka (207-91) who added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Four Polonia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Mateusz Bierwagen (194-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and guard Pawel Lewandowski (186-83) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Astoria Bydg.'s coach Jaroslaw Zawadka let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Polonia moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Znicz Basket and P.Cukier SIDEn. A very interesting game took place in Lublin. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked AZS Radex (6-10) to tenth ranked WIKANA Start (7-9) 84-82 in the fight for the tenth place. AZS Radex was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 24-15 charge of WIKANA Start, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a very good performance for power forward Marcel Wilczek (204-86, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). point guard Lukasz Wilczek (189-86) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners.
