The game between second ranked Asseco Prok. (10-5) and fourth ranked Stelmet ZG (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Asseco Prok. was defeated by Stelmet ZG in a tough game in Zielona Gora 74-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Asseco Prok.. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But Asseco Prok. won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stelmet ZG made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Asseco Prok. turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Asseco Prok. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) helped adding 10 points and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Asseco Prok.'s coach Andrzej Adamek rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stelmet ZG moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Asseco Prok. Stelmet ZG is looking forward to face league's leader Trefl Sopot on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Asseco Prok. will play against the league's second-placed PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a quality performance for the former international forward Filip Dylewicz (202-80) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Frank Turner accounted for 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Trefl Sopot's coach Mariusz Niedbalski felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Demetrius Brown (201-83, college: San Jose St.) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Kotwica in the defeat. Trefl Sopot have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with PGE Turow. Kotwica at the other side keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Start Gdynia. Trefl Sopot will play against Stelmet ZG (#3) in Zielona Gora in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kotwica will play on the road against Start Gdynia (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 15: Start Gdynia lost to AZS Koszalin on the opponent's court 63-68. Energa Czarni unfortunately lost to Polpharma in a home game 81-85. Anwil managed to beat Rosa Radom on the road 89-72. PGE Turow defeated Siarka Jezioro on its own court 95-81.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by Ben McCauley of Polpharma.



AZS Koszalin - Start Gdynia 68-63

Very expected game when 10th ranked Start Gdynia (4-11) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked AZS Koszalin (9-6) 68-63. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. AZS Koszalin forced 20 Start Gdynia turnovers. Start Gdynia was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) added 14 points respectively for Start Gdynia in the defeat. Start Gdynia's coach David Dedek tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AZS Koszalin moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Anwil. Start Gdynia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Kotwica. AZS Koszalin will play against Polpharma (#8) in Starogard in the next round. Start Gdynia will play at home against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Energa Czarni - Polpharma 81-85

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Slupsk where eighth ranked Polpharma (6-9) defeated 7th ranked Energa Czarni (8-7) 85-81. It looked good early as Energa Czarni took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Polpharma had a 31-18 second period charge getting the lead and Energa Czarni was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-85. Energa Czarni was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jawan Carter (180-87, college: Delaware) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Polpharma's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Lithuanian Valdas Dabkus (204-84) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Levi Knutson (193-88, college: Colorado, agency: FCM) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Energa Czarni in the defeat. Four Polpharma and five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. Polpharma have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 6-9 record. Energa Czarni lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Polpharma will play against higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Energa Czarni will play against Anwil in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Rosa Radom (3-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Anwil (9-6) 89-72. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. Rosa Radom was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil forced 20 Rosa Radom turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Rosa Radom was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists. American guard Tony Weeden (186-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 25 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard J.J. Montgomery (196-82, college: Arkansas St.) came up with 16 points and Serbian guard Nikola Vasojevic (195-86, agency: BeoExcell) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for Rosa Radom in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Anwil moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AZS Koszalin. Rosa Radom lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Everything went according to plan in Zgorzelec where third ranked PGE Turow (11-4) beat 9th ranked Siarka Jezioro (5-10) 95-81. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. Siarka Jezioro was better in second period 24-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. PGE Turow players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian point guard Vukasin Aleksic (184-85, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 8 assists. Serbian center Ivan Zigeranovic (212-84, agency: BeoExcell) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five PGE Turow players scored in double figures. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) came up with 28 points and forward Daniel Wall (196-82, agency: Promotex) added 14 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Siarka Jezioro in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PGE Turow keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Siarka Jezioro at the other side keeps the ninth place with ten games lost. PGE Turow will play against Asseco Prok. (#4) in Gdynia in the next round. Siarka Jezioro will play at home against Rosa Radom (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
