Here is the weekly review of the top performing Polish players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help Caja Laboral (25-9) in their last game. #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help Caja Laboral (25-9) in their last game. He was the second best scorer with 25 points. Lampe also added 5 rebounds in 28 minutes on the court.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Lampe has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg, 4.4rpg, 2FGP: 56.2%(149-265), 3FGP: 30.8% and FT: 86.1% in the 32 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.
Lampe is currently a member of the Polish senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, agency: Beo Basket, college: Washington St., currently plays in Spain). He contributed to a Valencia Basket's victory against the closely-ranked Gescrap BB (19-15) 72-61 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday.
Kelati scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Valencia Basket (22-12) is placed fourth in the ACB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This season Kelati has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.8apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 55.1%(38-69), 3FGP: 41.5% and FT: 91.9%(34-37).
He is another player who holds two passports: Eritrean and Polish.
Ex-BOT Turow Zgorzelec player is in the roster of the Polish senior national team.
#3. The Polish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Szymon Szewczyk (209-82, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA. Szewczyk was not able to help Umana Venezia (16-14) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Umana Venezia lost 79-93 in Varese to the leading Cimberio.
Szewczyk was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Szewczyk has reliable stats this year: 12.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 57.3%(90-157), 3FGP: 38.0% and FT: 82.4% in the 32 games.
He is also a member of the Polish senior national team.
#4. Guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis, currently plays in Israel) helped Maccabi T-A win their game against the second-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (13-14) 80-67 in a derby game in the Israeli Winner League in Sunday night's game.
Logan scored 8 points.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (22-5) is placed first.
It's Logan's first season with the team.
His stats this year are: 10.9ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.9apg.
Logan is a naturalized American.
He used to play for the Polish national team
back in 2009. Logan played also for WTK Anwil Wloclawek in Polish league.
#5. Former U18 international center Szymon Lukasiak (208-87, agency: Promotex, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese LPB was not able to secure a victory for Academica (15-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Academica was crushed 94-62 on the opponent's court by the leading Benfica.
Lukasiak was the top scorer with 21 points. He also added 5 rebounds.
Lukasiak is ranked fifth on the list of the best blockers in the league.
He has very reliable stats this season: 11.4ppg and 4.6rpg.
Lukasiak used to play for the Polish U18 national team
eight years ago.
#6. Forward Aleksander Czyz (200-90, agency: Priority Sports, college: Nevada, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Lottomatica Roma (20-10) in their game against Trenkwalder RE (18-12) in the Italian SerieA.
He scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Lottomatica Roma was badly defeated 89-69 in Reggio Emilia by the lower-ranked (#6) Trenkwalder RE.
