The most important game in the last round took place in Torun between third ranked MKS DG (12-6) and seventh ranked P.Cukier SIDEn (10-8) on Sunday night. MKS DG was defeated by P.Cukier SIDEn in a tough game on the road 68-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MKS DG won third quarter 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for power forward Adam Lisewski (206-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Jacek Jarecki (197-88) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Guard Mateusz Dziemba (194-92) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds for MKS DG. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. P.Cukier SIDEn have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sokol Lancut. MKS DG at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. P.Cukier SIDEn is looking forward to face Znicz Basket (#10) in Pruszkow in the next round. MKS DG will play at home against AZS Radex (#12) in Szczecin and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked AZS PP managed to get a third victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted AZS PP won against ninth-ranked Znicz Basket in Pozoan 61-55. Center Adam Metelski (208-83, college: Cal-Irvine) scored 8 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Pawel Hybiak chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84) with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS PP (3-15) moved-up to fifteenth place. Znicz Basket at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. AZS PP will play against bottom-ranked UMKS Kielce (#16) on the road in the next round. Znicz Basket will play against P.Cukier SIDEn (#6) in Torun and hopes to get back on the winning track.
1Liga top team - Slask Wroclaw (17-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Polonia (9-9) in Przemysl 86-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polonia. Radoslaw Hyzy notched 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Slask Wroclaw's coach Jerzy Chudeusz used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 25 points by Grzegorz Plocica did not help to save the game for Polonia. Slask Wroclaw have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-1 record. Loser Polonia dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Slask Wroclaw will meet Stal Ostrow (#4) in the next round. Polonia will play against the league's second-placed AZS Kutno (#2) and hope to secure a win.
