TS Wisla Can-Pack Krakow (PLKK) agreed terms with 28-year old Australian ex-international point guard Erin Phillips (173-75kg-85). Its actually her comeback to Krakow as she played here before. Phillips played last summer at Indiana Fever (WNBA). In 39 games she had 7.1ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.0apg. She also played at Wisla Can-Pak that season. In 38 PLKK games last season she recorded 11.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.1apg and 1.5spg. She helped them to win the league title and the cup. Quite impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Polish PLKK Honorable Mention and to the All-Star Game. The list of the past achievements is quite long as she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Polish PLKK Defensive Player of the Year in 2011. Phillips was also a member of Australian international program for some years. She played for Australian Senior National Team between 2006 and 2012 and previously for U22 National Team between 2002 and 2003. Phillips also represented Australia at the World Championships in Czech Republic three years ago. Her stats at that event were 9 games: 4.1ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.3apg. Phillips is quite experienced player. She has played also professionally in Israel (Ramat Hasharon), WNBA (Connecticut Sun), Poland (BI SSA Gdynia) and Australia (Adelaide Lightning).

Poland rout the Baltic State in Niemodlin for 2-0 record at the International home tournament. The Polish side needed a 62:52 and secured the first place after two games. Lithuania dropped at 1-1 and will need the win tomorrow against Ukraine to finish second.

Magdalena Skorek (177-G-84, agency: Data Plus Group) paced all the winners with 12 points and Paulina Misiek as well as Joanna Walich (183-F/C-81) had 9 each. Agnieszka Szott-Hejmej produced 8 points in the winning effort. Monika Grigalauskyte (190-PF-92) answered with 10 points for the guests and Giedre Paugaite had 9. Marina Solopova and Kamile Nacickaite (180-G-89, college: Drexel) poured in 7 points each, while Mante Kvederaviciute notched 6. Poland will play against Belarus tomorrow. Ukraine will face off against Lithuania.

Poland needs two overtimes to beat Ukraine in Day 1 of the international Tournament Zloty Sokol. The hosts of the tournament grabbed an 87:83 win over Ukraine in their opener. Both teams posted 20 points in the first period as the battle continued until the end. Poland managed to take 1-point lead at the halftime due to 13-12 rally in the second frame. Ukraine however needed a 26-21 surge in the third quarter for their lead, but Poland tied the game after 13-9 in the fourth quarter. In the first extra time both teams scored 7 points, while Poland grabbed the victory due to 13-9 in the second overtime. Agnieszka Skobel (179-F-89) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Magdalena Leciejewska (191-C-86) netted 15. Magdalena Skorek (177-G-84, agency: Data Plus Group) delivered 14, while Agnieszka Majewska (195-C-82) had 11. Tomorrow Ukraine will take on Belarus, while Poland will play against Lithuania.
