Krzysztof
Szubarga
28-year old point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-PG-84) put on an amazing game in the last round for Anwil and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 28 points adding two rebounds and seven assists for Anwil in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Polpharma (#8, 7-10) 90-87. Anwil is placed at 3rd position in Polish league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Anwil will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. In the team's last game Szubarga had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Anwil and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Szubarga has impressive league stats. He is league's best passer with 6.7apg. Szubarga is in league's top in and averages solid 58.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Sean Mosley (193-G-89) of Kotwica. He is American guard in his first season at Kotwica. In the last game Mosley recorded impressive 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Kotwica cruised to a 88-76 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked AZS Koszalin (#6, 9-8). This victory allowed Kotwica to move up to 10th position in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Kotwica managed to get this year. Mosley is a newcomer at Kotwica and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#4). He also registered 6.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84) of league's second-best Stelmet ZG. Hosley scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Stelmet ZG, leading his team to a 80-67 easy win against the lower-ranked Start Gdynia (#11, 5-12). Stelmet ZG needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 5 lost games. Hosley has a great season in Poland. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Robert Rothbart (217-C-86) of Start Gdynia - 21 points and 9 rebounds
5. Grzegorz Arabas (190-F/G-78) of Kotwica - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Corey Jefferson (183-G-85) of Kotwica - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Roderick Trice (191-F-84) of Energa Czarni - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Aaron Cel (203-F-87) of PGE Turow - 21 points and 7 rebounds
9. Ben McCauley (206-F/C-86) of Polpharma - 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Seid Hajric (203-F-83) of Anwil - 19 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
