We bring you last week's top performances from Poles who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Ewelina Kobryn (193-82, currently plays in Euroleague). She was the major contributor in an UMMC Ekaterinburg's victory against the fourth-ranked Mondeville (4-6) crushing them 79-58 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Kobryn scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. UMMC Ekaterinburg (10-0) is placed first in group C. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kobryn's first season with the team. This year she averages: 7.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 2FGP: 69.0%(29-42) and FT: 72.2% in the 10 games she played so far. Kobryn played for the Polish senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Agnieszka Bibrzycka (184-82, agency: Data Plus Group, college: Abil.Christian, currently plays in Euroleague). She contributed to Fenerbahce's victory against the seventh-ranked Arras (1-9) 81-75 in the Euroleague last Wednesday. Bibrzycka scored 7 points. Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu (8-2) is placed first in group B. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Bibrzycka has relatively good stats this season: 12.7ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 56.9%(29-51), 3FGP: 41.5%. She played for the Polish national team in 2009.

   #3. The Polish player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international guard Katarzyna Cymmer (172-89, currently plays in Hungary), who plays in the Hungarian A Division. Cymmer could not help Cegledi EKK (8-12) in their last game. Despite her very good performance the fourth-placed Cegledi EKK lost in an overtime 86-91 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Atomeromu in the Places 9-14 group. Cymmer was the top scorer with 23 points. She also added 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. This year Cymmer's overall stats are: 8.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.7apg, 1.9spg, 2FGP: 42.0%, 3FGP: 45.5%(15-33) and FT: 78.7% in the 18 games. She played for the Polish U20 national team four years ago.

   #4. Power forward Joanna Walich (183-81, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 1-point Conquero's victory against the closely-ranked Hondarribia-Irun (5-8) 81-80 in the Spanish LFB last Friday. Walich scored 10 points, grabbed 8 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 3 balls in 32 minutes. Toyota Recreativo Conquero Huelva (4-9) is placed second from the bottom (#10) in the LFB. Walich belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #2) and also on the list of best blockers (fourth place). She has individually a very good year with high stats. Walich averages: 17.6ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.3spg in the 12 games. She is also Polish national team player.

An experienced international forward Magdalena Losi (173-80, agency: Promotex, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) was not able to help TEC-MAR Crema (11-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Losi's good performance TEC-MAR Crema (#4) was defeated 66-52 on the road by the much lower-ranked Milano (#14) in the North group. She was the second best scorer with 12 points. Losi also added 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Losi is currently second on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (fourth place). This season she has very high stats. Losi averages: 17.9ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.8apg and 2.6spg. She plays currently for the Polish national team.

   #6. Center Aleksandra Chomac (191-85, also represented by Promotex, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a Valosun Brno's victory against the closely-ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (8-6) 68-55 in the Czech Republic ZBL in Sunday night's game. Chomac recorded 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes. Valosun KP Brno (10-9) is placed sixth in the ZBL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Chomac's total stats are: 7.0ppg and 7.8rpg in the four games. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Polish National Team roster.

Former University international center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, agency: LBM Management, college: Liberty, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) was not able to secure a victory for Valmadrera (6-11) in their last game on Saturday. Despite her good performance Valmadrera (#10) was defeated 64-52 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Cremona (#12) in the North group. Piotrkiewicz recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds. Piotrkiewicz belongs to league's best rebounders (ranked #2) and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). She has very reliable stats this season: 10.8ppg and 10.3rpg. Piotrkiewicz used to play for the Polish university national team six years ago.

   #8. Power forward Natalia Mrozinska (191-84, currently plays in Hungary) is a teammate of previously mentioned Katarzyna Cymmer and both played together in the last Hungarian A Division game. Mrozinska couldn't help Cegledi EKK (8-12) in their game against Atomeromu (12-8). She scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cegledi EKK (#4) was defeated in an overtime 91-86 on their home court in Cegled by the higher-ranked Atomeromu (#3) in the Places 9-14 group. Mrozinska is currently eighth on the league's list of top scorers. This season she has very good stats: 12.9ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.2apg. Mrozinska used to play for the Polish national team back in 2005.

Former University international forward Mirela Pultorak (186-88, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Friendsfactory Germering (4-8) in their game against TG 1889 Sandhausen (5-7) in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division). She recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 17 minutes. Friendsfactory Germering (#9) lost 53-67 in Sandhausen to the higher-ranked (#8) TG 1889 in the South group. It was Friendsfactory Germering's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Pultorak has averaged so far 6.5ppg and 4.6rpg in the 10 games. She used to play for the Polish university national team two years ago.

   #10. Center Patrycja Gulak-Lipka (192-82, college: Massachusetts, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Orvieto (3-9) in their game against Taranto (8-3) in the Italian A1. Gulak-Lipka scored only 4 points. Orvieto was badly defeated 71-54 on their home court in Orvieto by the higher-ranked Taranto (#4). It was Orvieto's seventh consecutive loss in a row. Gulak-Lipka has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 2.8rpg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Polish National Team roster.

   #11. Former University international guard Magdalena Gawronska (168-83, another player represented by Promotex, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Herner TC in their game against TSV 1880 Wasserburg in the German DBBL. Gawronska cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. She recorded only 2 points. Her team was crushed by 22 points 93-71. Gawronska has averaged so far 5.4ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.3apg. She used to play for the Polish university national team six years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Polish passport but never been selected to any of Polish national teams:

   #1. Pauline Krawczyk (182-F-85, currently plays in France) managed to help Cercle Jean Mace Bourges to win against the 12th-ranked Aix-en-Provence (6-11) 74-64 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. Krawczyk scored only 3 points. Cercle Jean Mace Bourges (12-4) is placed second in the LFB. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Krawczyk's total stats this season are: 2.5ppg and 1.5rpg. She has a dual citizenship: Polish and French.

   #2. Klaudia Grudzien (183-F-90, currently plays in Germany) led Goettingen to a victory over the tenth-ranked Hagen Phoenix (3-10) 57-53 in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) last Saturday. Grudzien was MVP of the game. She recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. BG 74 Goettingen (14-4) is placed second in North group. It was her team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Grudzien has individually a very good season with high stats. She averages: 15.2ppg, 7.8rpg and 3.1apg.

   #3. Nadzeya Drozd (174-G-83, currently plays in Belarus) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Gorizont (8-4) 77-60 in the Belarusian Premier League on Wednesday night. Drozd scored 13 points and added 7 passes in 26 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SBK Olimpia Grodno (11-0) is placed first in the Premier League. So far her team won all eleven games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended. Drozd is the league's best passer and also on the list of most steals (second place). She has very reliable stats this year: 10.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 6.0apg and 3.2spg in the 10 games she played so far. Drozd is another player who holds two passports: Polish and Belarusian.

   #4. Katharina Fikiel (193-F/C-87, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Herner TC (2-11) crushing them 93-71 in the German DBBL last Saturday. She recorded only 4 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 25 minutes. TSV 1880 Wasserburg (11-2) is placed first in the DBBL. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Fikiel is ranked fourth on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.0bpg. This year she also averages: 9.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.6apg in the 13 games. Fikiel has both Polish and German nationalities.

   #5. Martha Chrzanowski (185-F-83, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LF2 (12th division) could not help Pau Lacq Orthez (3-1) to beat COB Calais (12-2). Chrzanowski cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. She scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. Pau Lacq Orthez was crushed 88-57 on the road by the second-ranked COB Calais. Chrzanowski has been at the team for four years. This season Chrzanowski averages just 1.0ppg in the two games. She also holds two passports: Polish and French.

Maros Kovacik will be the new coach of CCC Polkowice. That will be 3rd head coach of the team in the current season. Stefan Svitek resigned after loss to Basket 90 Gdynia during last round of BLK. American Renee Montgomery (170-PG-86, agency: LBM Management) had a great game in the last round for Basket Gdynia and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 30-year old playmaker had the game-high 37 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Basket Gdynia in her team's victory, helping them to crush CCC Polkowice (#7, 4-5) with 17-point margin 93-76.
