AZS Koszalin (#6) forced the game against Stelmet ZG (#2) into an overtime, but lost by five points 80-85 on Saturday night. The game took place in Koszalin. But the guests from Zielona Gora were better at the end. Walter Hodge scored 31 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. AZS Koszalin's coach Zoran Sretenovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stelmet ZG have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record behind leader PGE Turow. AZS Koszalin lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Stelmet ZG will face Kotwica (#10) in Kolobrzeg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS Koszalin will play on the road against the league's leader PGE Turow (#1) in Zgorzelec.

In the last game of round 18 Kotwica lost to Polpharma on the opponent's court 58-68. Start Gdynia unfortunately lost to PGE Turow in a home game 64-78. Anwil managed to beat Siarka Jezioro on the road 91-75. Asseco Prok. crushed Energa Czarni on its own court 85-60. Bottom-ranked Rosa Radom was smashed by Trefl Sopot in a road game 90-59.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 39 points (!!!) by Tony Weeden of Anwil.

Polpharma - Kotwica 68-58

Rather expected game in Starogard where 10th ranked Kotwica (5-13) was defeated by eighth ranked Polpharma (8-10) 68-58 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Polpharma. Kotwica was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kotwica to just 7 points in second quarter. The former international forward Zbigniew Bialek (203-82, agency: Limelight Hoops) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Belgian center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Polpharma's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Grzegorz Arabas (190-78, agency: Promotex) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American center Ty Walker (213-89, college: Wake Forest) scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks. Polpharma maintains eighth position with 8-10 record. Kotwica at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Polpharma will face Siarka Jezioro (#9) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round. Kotwica will play on the road against the league's second-placed Stelmet ZG where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Very predictable result when first ranked PGE Turow (14-4) defeated on the road 11th ranked Start Gdynia (5-13) 78-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. PGE Turow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international power forward Damian Kulig (206-87) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Michal Jankowski (192-87) with 20 points and Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) scored 11 points. PGE Turow have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record. Newly promoted Start Gdynia dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. Energa Czarni was better in fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asseco Prok. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Energa Czarni's players. The former international Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-86, college: Independence CC, agency: Alti Sport) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international swingman Mateusz Ponitka (196-93) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Roderick Trice (191-84, college: S.Carolina) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marcin Dutkiewicz (196-86) scored 12 points.
