There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 16 in the 2Liga took place in Szczecin. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent SMS PZKosz (9-4) to first ranked Wilki Morskie (12-1) 78-76 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of SMS PZKosz. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 18-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Wilki Morskie forced 20 SMS PZKosz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Radoslaw Bojko (196-91) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Piotr Pluta (192-81, agency: Court Side) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Mikolaj Witlinski (207-95) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Wilki Morskie have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 12-1 record. SMS PZKosz at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Wilki Morskie are looking forward to face MKS Skierniew. (#6) in Skierniewice in the next round where they are favorite. SMS PZKosz will play at home against GTK Gdynia (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Eighth-ranked Wisla AWF Kr. (4-8) gave a tough game to top-ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (12-0) in Jaworzno. MCKiS Jaworz. managed to secure only one-point victory 68-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The winners were led by guard Slawomir Klocek (191-84) who scored that evening 16 points and 6 rebounds and Tomasz Ejsmont supported him with 18 points. MCKiS Jaworz.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Jakub Dwernicki (180-86) did not help to save the game for Wisla AWF Kr.. Undefeated MCKiS Jaworz. have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 12-0 record. Wisla AWF Kr. at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Handlopex AZS. MCKiS Jaworz. will play against AZS AGH Alstom (#7) in Krakow in the next round where they are favorite. Wisla AWF Kr. will play at home against Rosa II Radom and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked PWiK Piaseczno (9-3) against fifth ranked Rosa II Radom (6-6) on Sunday night. Visiting PWiK Piaseczno was crushed by Rosa II Radom in Radom 100-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PWiK Piaseczno. Robert Cetnar fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Sebastian Okola produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rosa II Radom moved-up to fourth place in Group C. Loser PWiK Piaseczno keeps the second position with three games lost. Rosa II Radom will meet Wisla AWF Kr. (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. PWiK Piaseczno will play against Handlopex AZS (#8) in Rzeszow and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tur Bielsk Pdl. (7-6) against fifth ranked Legia (6-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Tur Bielsk Pdl. was defeated by Legia in Warszawa 79-66. It was a very good performance for Damian Cechniak who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Legia maintains fifth position in Group C with 6-7 record. Tur Bielsk Pdl. at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Legia will have a break next round. Tur Bielsk Pdl. will play at home against Pulaski Warka.
GTK Gdynia's home win over higher ranked Korsarz Gdansk 85-72 was very exciting. Worth to mention a great performance of Bartosz Wrobel who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!). Korsarz Gdansk's coach Andrzej Kwasniewski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. GTK Gdynia (5-8) moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Basket Pila. Korsarz Gdansk lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. GTK Gdynia will face league's second-placed SMS PZKosz in Wladyslawowo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Korsarz Gdansk will play at home against Basket Pila.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16:
In Group A Trefl II Sopot won against Basket Pila on the opponent's court 88-76. Suchy Las unfortunately lost to MKS Skierniew. in a home game 63-74. Notec recorded a loss to Ksiezak Lowicz on the road 79-89. SMS PZKosz defeated Trefl II Sopot on its own court 82-78.
In Group B HK Zory was beaten by Nysa Klodzko in Kloszko 97-84. GTK Gliwice won against Tychy at home 99-87. AZS AWF K-ce managed to outperform Wschowa on the opponent's court 81-63. Mickiewicz recorded a loss to Alba Chorzow in a home game 83-86.
In Group C AZS AGH Alstom was defeated by Pulaski Warka on the road 72-58.

Group A
Basket Pila - Trefl II Sopot 76-88

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Basket Pila (5-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Trefl II Sopot (7-6) 88-76 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. Trefl II Sopot shot 34 for 46 from the free-throw line, while Basket Pila only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Trefl II Sopot especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Basket Pila was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aleksander Lebiedzinski (194-93) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Pawel Dzierzak (185-93) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Trefl II Sopot's coach Marcin Lichtanski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Wojciech Rogacewicz (203-86, college: Mount Olive) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and guard Grzegorz Przewozniak (192-82) scored 23 points. Four Trefl II Sopot and five Basket Pila players scored in double figures. Trefl II Sopot moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Korsarz Gdansk. Newly promoted Basket Pila keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face higher ranked Ksiezak Lowicz (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Basket Pila will play against Korsarz Gdansk (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

GTK Gdynia's home win over higher ranked Korsarz Gdansk 85-72 was very exciting. The game was mostly controlled by GTK Gdynia. Korsarz Gdansk was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GTK Gdynia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when GTK Gdynia made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Bartosz Wrobel (186-95) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and guard Robert Kolka (184-93) who added 22 points, 8 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side center Piotr Konsek (208-89) responded with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Pawel Bach (198-86) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Rather predictable result when seventh ranked MKS Skierniew. (6-7) defeated on the road 10th ranked Suchy Las (2-11) 74-63 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 11 points. MKS Skierniew. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Mariusz Lapinski (194-82) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Radoslaw Jarosz (196-83) who added 7 points and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Piotr Wieloch (180-94) responded with 10 points and 7 assists and guard Pawel Mowlik (182-89) scored 16 points and 4 steals. Suchy Las' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MKS Skierniew. moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Suchy Las lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. MKS Skierniew. will face league's leader Wilki Morskie in Szczecin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Suchy Las will play on the road against Notec (#9) in Inowroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
