The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest Asseco Prok.'s (13-6) road victory over 3rd placed Anwil (12-7) 71-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Anwil. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco Prok.. Anwil managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Anwil to just 7 points in first quarter. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-86, college: Independence CC, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 22 points. Asseco Prok.'s coach Andrzej Adamek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) produced 18 points and 5 assists for lost side. Asseco Prok. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Trefl Sopot. Asseco Prok. are looking forward to face Siarka Jezioro (#9) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anwil will play on the road against Trefl Sopot (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Energa Czarni and 4th placed Trefl Sopot where Energa Czarni (10-9) rolled over Trefl Sopot (12-7) on the road with 20-point difference 83-63. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Israeli guard Oded Brandwein (186-88, agency: N.E.T.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Valdas Dabkus contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Filip Dylewicz (202-80) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds for Trefl Sopot. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Energa Czarni moved-up to sixth place. Trefl Sopot at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Anwil. Energa Czarni will play against Start Gdynia (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Trefl Sopot will play against Anwil (#4) in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Rosa Radom managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Rosa Radom won against eleventh-ranked Start Gdynia 66-55. It was a great evening for Nic Wise who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Robert Rothbart responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Rosa Radom maintains twelfth place with 4-15 record. Start Gdynia lost third consecutive game. Start Gdynia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Kotwica. Rosa Radom will meet higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Start Gdynia will play against Energa Czarni in Slupsk and hope to secure a win.

(#3) in Gdynia and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last game of round 19 Kotwica was defeated by Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora 81-74.
The best stats of 19th round was 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Ben McCauley of Polpharma.



Stelmet ZG - Kotwica 81-74

There was no surprise in Zielona Gora where 10th ranked Kotwica (5-14) was defeated by second ranked Stelmet ZG (14-5) 81-74. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Kotwica won second period 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stelmet ZG forced 20 Kotwica turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American center Ty Walker (213-89, college: Wake Forest) came up with 8 points and 14 rebounds and center Rafal Rajewicz (203-88, agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Kotwica in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stelmet ZG have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-5 record having just -1 point less than leader PGE Turow. Kotwica at the other side keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Stelmet ZG's next round opponent will be Polpharma (#8) in Starogard which should be theoretically an easy game. Kotwica will play at home against the league's leader PGE Turow in Zgorzelec.

Lithuanian Valdas Dabkus (204-84) contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jakub Dloniak (192-83, agency: Promotex) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Rosa Radom - Start Gdynia 66-55

Bottom-ranked Rosa Radom managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Rosa Radom won against eleventh-ranked Start Gdynia 66-55. The game was mostly controlled by Rosa Radom. Start Gdynia managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rosa Radom won last quarter 21-12. It was a great evening for American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import swingman Ronald Dorsey (197-83, college: McNeese St.) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Bosnian-Israeli center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Maciej Kucharek (204-93) scored 10 points. Newly promoted Rosa Radom maintains twelfth place with 4-15 record. Start Gdynia lost third consecutive game. Start Gdynia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Kotwica. Rosa Radom will meet higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Start Gdynia will play against Energa Czarni in Slupsk and hope to secure a win.

Anwil - Asseco Prok. 59-71

The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest Asseco Prok.'s (13-6) road victory over 3rd placed Anwil (12-7) 71-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Anwil. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco Prok.. Anwil managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Anwil to just 7 points in first quarter. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-86, college: Independence CC, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 22 points. Asseco Prok.'s coach Andrzej Adamek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) produced 18 points and 5 assists and naturalized Bosnian forward Seid Hajric (203-83) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Asseco Prok. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Trefl Sopot. Asseco Prok. are looking forward to face Siarka Jezioro (#9) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anwil will play on the road against Trefl Sopot (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
