The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Top ranked AZS AWF K-ce (13-3) recorded its third loss in Katowice on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked WKK Wroclaw (11-4) 100-82. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of AZS AWF K-ce. WKK Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to AZS AWF K-ce's 30. 27 personal fouls committed by AZS AWF K-ce helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Jan Grzelinski (178-94) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international power forward Miroslaw Lopatka (213-77, agency: Promotex) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. WKK Wroclaw's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mariusz Piotrkowski (197-84) produced 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the hosts. WKK Wroclaw maintains third place in Group B with 11-4 record having just one points less than leader Wilki Morskie. AZS AWF K-ce at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. WKK Wroclaw are looking forward to face league's second-placed Pogon Prudnik at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS AWF K-ce will have a break next round.
Eleventh-ranked Wschowa (1-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Pogon Prudnik (12-3). Pogon Prudnik managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. Tomasz Madziar (195-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Tomasz Lakis contributed with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Pawel Jaworski (200-86) answered with 32 points and 8 rebounds for Wschowa. Pogon Prudnik maintains second place in Group B with 12-3 record behind leader Wilki Morskie. Wschowa lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Pogon Prudnik will play against Sudety (#6) in Jelenia Gora in the next round. Wschowa will play at home against Alba Chorzow (#7) to get more than just one victory in their record.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked PWiK Piaseczno (9-4) against eighth ranked Handlopex AZS (5-8) on Sunday night. Visiting PWiK Piaseczno was defeated by Handlopex AZS in Rzeszow 78-66. Piotr Mis stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Handlopex AZS's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Damian Zapert responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Handlopex AZS moved-up to seventh place in Group C. Loser PWiK Piaseczno keeps the second position with four games lost. Handlopex AZS will meet at home higher ranked Rosa II Radom (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PWiK Piaseczno will play against Legia in Warszawa and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tur Bielsk Pdl. (7-7) against sixth ranked Pulaski Warka (6-8) on Saturday night. Host Tur Bielsk Pdl. was defeated by Pulaski Warka in a tough game in Bielsk Podlaski 70-74. Dawid Mieczkowski nailed 9 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side. Pulaski Warka maintains sixth place in Group C with 6-8 record. Tur Bielsk Pdl. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Pulaski Warka will have a break next round. Tur Bielsk Pdl. will play on the road against the league's leader MCKiS Jaworz. (#1) in Jaworzno.
Leader Wilki Morskie delivered the thirteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked MKS Skierniew. (6-8) 97-74 in Skierniewice. The best player for the winners was Piotr Wojdyr who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. MKS Skierniew.'s coach Lukasz Makolski gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Wilki Morskie (13-1) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A. Loser MKS Skierniew. keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Wilki Morskie will face Notec (#9) in Inowroclaw in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MKS Skierniew. will play at home against the league's second-placed SMS PZKosz in Wladyslawowo.

Other games of round 17 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Group A Suchy Las was defeated by Notec in Inowroclaw 76-74. SMS PZKosz smashed GTK Gdynia at home 92-69. Basket Pila won against Korsarz Gdansk on the opponent's court 89-80.
In Group B Mickiewicz managed to outperform HK Zory in a home game 76-73. Sudety managed to beat Alba Chorzow on the road 99-92. Tychy defeated Nysa Klodzko on its own court 78-65.
In Group C Rosa II Radom beat Wisla AWF Kr. in a road game 69-56. AZS AGH Alstom lost to undefeated MCKiS Jaworz. at home 51-66.


Group A
Notec - Suchy Las 76-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Suchy Las' (2-12) road loss to ninth ranked Notec (5-9) 74-76 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Suchy Las won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Notec forced 19 Suchy Las turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Mikolaj Grod (194-89) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Artur Gliszczynski (178-81) chipped in 16 points. Four Notec players scored in double figures. Center Filip Pruefer (208-96) produced 10 points and Michal Wielechowski (193-94) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Suchy Las' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Notec moved-up to eighth place in Group A, which they share with GTK Gdynia. Suchy Las lost fifth consecutive game. Suchy Las at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Notec will face league's leader Wilki Morskie in Szczecin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suchy Las will play at home against Trefl II Sopot (#4).

No shocking result in a game in Wladyslawowo where second ranked SMS PZKosz (10-4) smashed 8th ranked GTK Gdynia (5-9) 92-69 on Wednesday. The game without a history. SMS PZKosz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to GTK Gdynia's 38. SMS PZKosz forced 24 GTK Gdynia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Damian Jeszke (202-95) who scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Kacper Borowski (203-94) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Bartosz Wrobel (186-95) produced 14 points and guard Robert Kolka (184-93) added 12 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SMS PZKosz maintains second place in Group A with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Wilki Morskie. Newly promoted GTK Gdynia keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. SMS PZKosz will face MKS Skierniew. (#7) in Skierniewice in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. GTK Gdynia will play on the road against Basket Pila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
